View Full Version : this ut3.exe is not working error needs to be fixed asap

everytime i install it says ut3.exe does not work after it completes install and i hit launch

it does it on my laptop too but i think the problem is we need a upgrade on our computers post your specs so that people in this forum can help you better also make sure to have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 installed

If you have Vista, by default, Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 is installed.

The problem is elsewhere...

PC specs should not stop the game from even loading, crashing in the game or running very poorly would.

Tell me exactly what it says when you try to launch it. Also, PC specs can very well stop a game from launching. Post your specs, tell me what the error says when it doesn't launch, and we'll find a solution.

where is the log file that UT3 creates?

As for specs: Computers a few years old, runs UT2004 with all of the settings up just fine.
Athlon XP 2800
1gb Ram
Nvidia GeForce 4 MX (onboard, but never given me a reason to upgrade)

UT3 doesn't create it, windows does. It's a dump file, just a bunch of gibberish.

That doesn't tell us much, it would be any number of things. Drivers(Make sure Video/DirectX are up to date.) Hardware, things like that.

Installed .NET 3.0 framework, updating graphics card driver, installing updates from Windows Update now. Hopefully this works

we just got a new computer with vista on it. the only thing we found that was different on the spec was our processer was 1.8 not 2.0 but its a duo i believe. so it should still run just not as fast as it should. the error says "ut3.exe is not working" on the windows vista on xp it gave me the same error as above.

just did all of the updates, installed that updated windows installer, etc.. and same error.

i was looking forward to my day off tomorrow with some LAN games, guess not.

yea im startin to think the shipped out some faulty discs cause our new computer is only 2 weeks old and should have all the new and good stuff on it.

If you can install the game, the discs can be set aside. Heatherrr, On Vista, make sure you right click UT3's icon and click "Run as Administrator".

ill try that when my boyfriend brings his computer home from work. i just tried doing it on a 3rd computer with xp and it still says the ut3.exe has a problem.
