Low FPS and other things...

I purchased the game yesterday evening and the installation was ok, but when I started to play(full details) it stops every few seconds for a little while. The framerate is around 50-70, just while this little stops it slows down to 5-10FSP. Even when I minimize the details to texturedetail 3 and environment detail 1 I got that problem. It seams like my PC has to load something, but I can't imaging that. Any ideas?:confused:

Windows Vista 32-Bit
Intel Core2Duo E6700
4GB Corsair
2x512MB Radeon X1950XTX Crossfire(don't know driver version)

Maybe check to see if ATI has some new drivers out...otherwise, maybe drop some detail settings to see if your performance improves.

Same issue here. I have a brand new HD 3870 and in Vista I get hiccups in the framerate. Typically I get around 70fps on average, but I dip down to 20fps in certain areas. I could be staring at a wall in certain places and it happens, but I can be in a huge battle with vehicles and explosions everywhere and get 70fps. It's odd and doesn't make much sense.

I think it's a driver issue with ATI cards, there should be a new driver released soon. I'm on the 7.11 beta driver that came on a CD with my new card right now. Hopefully the 7.11 driver will have a fix when it is publicly released. Maybe they'll have a hotfix if not.

Ok. I tryd Catalyst 7.9 now. The driver from yesterday was 7.3. Well.. I can play in 1280x960 with full details now and get my 62FPS, but in some areas the problem is still there. Unfortunately I can't try Catalyst 7.10 yet. Maybe it would help more.
Hiccups was the word I searched yesterday:)
