Nice, best looking custom map ive seen very nice. I'd say to tone down the lighting abit give a more real unreal effect to it, thats just my opinion, looks a bit too jolly to me if u know what I mean.

Nice texturing hehe I'm still looking at it =] yeah, perhaps a v2 with a more grimy theme to it, dimmer lights, slightly darker textures, a few stains on the wall, scraps of hay and dead grass on the ground, and a sun roof to have light shining down in the middle. I know UT3 has that nice light effect where u can see the dust flying in the air !!! please go for that, I would but no UT3 yet for me until Friday =[[[ but again ice work and textures the box thing in the corner looks quite real ! gj wp gg.

yes hes my good friend, i've known him for years. and his son actually made the map. and it was passed on to me. when he went to war. so its a dear map of his from ut99. lots of people will be pissed if i pass the news over to them. im trying to avoid all that. up to you tho, balls in your court.

Well, the best way to think of it is common courtesy. wolverine made the map in utk4, your map is a re-creation of this map, yes? how would you like it if someone took your work and remade it in a newer/shinier format? it'd probably piss you off and make you say: "that bastage remade MY map!" The honor system is in effect. just do the honorable thing and remove the link as requested.

Or did he import Wolf's map from UT2, and just polish it a bit, then releasing it for UT3?

If he remade it from scratch, I don't see the problem. Just give some credit.

If he imported the old one, and the Wolf minds, I think you should take it down. Altough I'd rather that Wolf allow him to release the map under a different, yet less childish, name.

I'd say that since you totally changed it up and renamed it, there would be no
reason for anyone to delete the thread. Looks like a second level (second story floor was added)

I'm sure the thread stays. If not, I'll be scratching my head as to why it would
get deleted.
BarnBurner has been remade more then any other map in UT that I am aware
of, and this one map post is getting singled out only because it is on the Epic
site.
What about the other 200 remakes of BarnBurner...Almost every single clan
has made a remake, removed the fog, etc and so forth.
It has also been remade as a DM map as well as a BR map.

Even expecting a thread deletion seems silly to me, but who knows.
Even harder to understand would be how anyone would know to email Wolverine, unless
the original map included his info.

)AO( Clan dissapeared long ago, sadly. It is a shame. Cool peeps were in that clan. Especially Machina.
Wolverine has apparently taken a sense of ownership even though he did not create the content either, just by virtue of knowing his friends Son (The author).
How could anyone know this information.
Since )AO( clan was disbanded and has not existed for years now, it seems that there would be no
place to post, or find out this info., so an email to the friend of the author
is an unrealistic expectation. Just my opinion.

Also as far as courtesy is concerned, the typical diplomacy in this type of situation would be to
rename the map giving credit to the author.
( ie; CTF-)AO(Barnburner-[MrZeaL] )

Anyway, thanks again for the new link, and I'll get this up on some of our Clan
servers once the Dedicated Server package has been fixed by Epic.
It has too many issues at the moment.

This argument is pointless, if you seeeee how many people have made this map or a map like it on 2k4, most of the ctf map was like this, flags in both corners with something in the middle. I remember 1 called ctf-noobbashing, I can get more names if u want. If I was the original map maker I wouldn't get, its not a great map layout, and he didn't just import it and changed a few things like what other people have done in the past.

WoLvErInE has made some of the best arena maps for UT and has much respect in the community for doing so.

IMO, if I were you I would just rename the map and then the problem would be solved, as it is not cool to use the "BarnBurner" name, first without the -)AO(- tag, and second without the authors permission who was planning on remaking his map for UT3.

BTW WoLvErInE, We are all looking forward to your maps being remade for UT3. :)

Do you know how many remakes of that map was made for UT99 and UT2004 without permission? Tons. Where is the threads about those maps? I don't see anyone arguing over those. Now Zeal makes the first UT3 version and you get all pissy. Sounds like you wanted to be the first one Wolf. You win some, you lose some.

MrZeal did the right thing by giving you credit and you're just trying to ruin a career of a new mapper. I hope you enjoy your aids sir.

So no excuses there, as he knew name of orginal.

But this is not like somebody renamed DM-1on1-Ilarnek for example and tried to publish it as his own. BarnBurner map is simple that it is quite easy to remake it without even knowing about orginal.
