View Full Version : Driver issues

My laptop has (lol:() ATI Radeon Mobility 9700, and the only driver for it is from 2005. So I downloaded the Omega driver (catalyst version 7.10, tried 7.9 but was poo) and it works a lot better, except things seem weird. Like I tried to unrar something and it worked half right, and when I exit UT03 (which will randomly freeze, go black, and go back to playing) my resolution stays at whatever it was in the game and I have to manually set it back. I tried the Driver Heaven method but it doesn't work. I can install it and everything but it still keeps using the old drivers. One of the threads here said to use catalyst 7.8, but I couldn't find the Omega version of it. I'm not sure what to do, as I like the Omega drivers, but the old one doesn't make the laptop act odd.

i have exactly the same card as you in my laptop, and the same drivers, the way you can get rid of the pausing in ut3 is to go to UTEngine.ini and change floatingpointrendertargets to false, this ets rid of all visible water and the explosion from the flak cannon secondary looks kinda wierd, but you will no longer have the pausing. Sorry but i dont know how to fix any of the other issues mentioned

I have set that to true/false, as well as many other settings in there. Happens no matter what.
So when you exit UT03, your desktop automatically resizes back? Do you know if you can change this in some settings or something?
