The demo doesn't start but no error message

When I start the Demo it simply load forever. I get the splash screen on the desktop and stop. I can wait for hours and it doesn't change anything. It doesn't crash or give any error message, it simply won't load. Anyone knows what's the problem?
I have a quadcore q6600, ram 2 gigabyte, nvidia 7900gt and windows vista.

ive had an similar problem with the full version of the game, have you already install the new beta drivers from nvidia? with the new driver it work with my game

Yeah already tried with the latest nvidia driver, both beta and normal. I've also updated my sound driver (creative x-fi). No changes

Update: The game starts if I add the option -nosound after the exe.
Any idea why this happens?
