Hey everybody, I finished roughing out my first MP layout. If you can get it working I would really like to get some feedback on it before I start doing mesh placement.
Btw, my gamer tag is "N U K E E XLR" if anyone wants to add me to play.

Also, here's some screens, got some awesome grid texture action going on.

Is there a way to start a game with only one player (me) in the game?
And is there a way to look up if anyone else is playing this map?

Ok I have been playing this map a little bit with "N U K E E XLR" and i think its realy good.
It has a upper and lower level.
And some nice areas where you can shot from one to the other.
There are also lots of things to use for cover.
Congratulations with the first map posted here on the forums.
I'm looking forward to the next version.
Send me a massage if anyone wants to play it with me.
My gamertag is Trond.

map looks nice but this reminds me of CSS aim maps,
thats because its jsut the greybox for playtesting/refineing easier
im guessing hes going to make it look like a proper GoW level after hes happy with the layout

This looks really, really cool. Isn't it a little big for Gears though?

Its not that big.
Worked fine 1 vs 1.
You see when people pick up weapons anyway so I dont think it will be a problem.

Keep up the good work!
btw, can you download maps directly off each other when u join a game or do you have to download it first?

Although I found a few things that seemed odd to me.
1. Can't walk or jump past the barricade ends where the longshot is. You do not pop into a cover slot and can just run repeatedly and not get anywhere:)
2. Can't walk off the top level. oh man nothing bakes my beans more than when you can't go somewhere in a map for no apparent reason. The worst for this was medal of honor. Blocking volumes in the middle of nowhere and for no good reason than to direct where they wanted the character to go.
3. Can't breach over the cutout columns (for lack of a better description). I know you have blocking volumes there, but if it looks like you can get up on it, you should be able to.
4. Can't breach through windows. There are areas that look like windows that you cannot go through.
5. Some barrel cover slots do not have the correct height.
6. Items near corners should be in the same cover system. So if I am at a corner and there is a barrel near it, I should be able to slide into the cover slot for the barrel.
Oh and you have a crazy cover system on the top level of the map.
I KNOW this is a work in progress and I know this is your map, I am merely making some suggestions. I test software for a living, so I look at things differently than someone who just wants to play it. Please take no offense with what I am saying.
Your pretty good, so keep up the good work.:)

Reminds me of metal gear vr training. :D
From what I can see, it looks good.
I cant wait to get the editor and start creating some levels.

Hi Jared, i'm from the UT3 forum and i just saw your map. Layout is looking very interesting, i'm curious to see more of this.
Where did you get the material/texture from? I love it. Can i use it in the UT3 editor for my own layouting work?
Cheers,
jj
EDIT: Never mind, i made my own :)
