I would love to know this aswell.
My lights look soo dead... is it something to do with the actual material properties that makes them glare up?

Do you mean corona lights?

yeah man, thats the one, well, for me anyways, dunno about Pectabyte

Yeah same thing. How do you make carona's? I am trying to put a few Carona's on a few street lamp and such I'm also trying to make a neat moon effect but have no idea how.

They are in UN_Volumetrics. Its a sphere mesh with a few different materials you can apply to it to change the color of the glow. Its not really a carona in the UT2k4 sense, but its what was used in the game. Just scale it to work with your light.

thanks for the reply NeoNautica but those still arent the kinda thing im personally looking for.
Im just wanting a static mesh's bulb to have that glow to it, rather than just a lightly coloured bulb made from the pointlight its next to.
Those volumetrics would have probably been asked next though :D

you would need to use an emissive map, sometimes called self illum or glow map, to make the bulb actually glow.I saw the term lens flare on the thread and nearly fainted, the last thing we need is to start adding those, this isnt photoshop :D while im sure it can easily be done, the question is should it? then again a map with like 10 lensflares might loook awesomely next gen :D [/blatantSarcasm]

nah, i don't think either of us are after the camera looking at the sun effect, just a bit of glow like you say.

I'll just borrow this thread for a quick question about lighting; I made a simple map but I don't know what to do to make the lighting look good. I have a bunch of static lights and a skylight (if that's the correct name for it, I can't remember now). Anyways, do anyone have a suggestion? Check the picture:
