Well since I like CTF a lot is it possible to have different gametypes in the maplist. I want to be able to have both gametypes CTF and vCTF maps in the same maplist. If this possible please in detail explain how to do this with a small example.

I would like to know that also. I used to have a UT2004 server and used a mutator called Map Mixer. It worked great. Now has the way UT3 works as far as map lists concerned have they changed or do they function the same way as UT2004. Because if they are in the same format you could use map mixer to setup your map list they way you want simply mixing map types. No big deal unless the way mutators are used in UT3 have changed. As an admin it is vital to find out these types of issues.

First, by default Map Voting for all of the VCTF maps would be enabled. To disable that, in UTGame.ini you would look for the [UTGame.UTGame] section and set bAllowMapVoting=false. To run vCTF and CTF maps you would probably have to add a GameSpecificMapCycles entry in the same section such as:
GameSpecificMapCycles=(GameClassName="UTVehicleCTF Game",Maps=("VCTF-Suspense","VCTF-Containment","CTF-Coret",etc))
(That is a guess...I assume it would work).

Well, I, too, am all ears. I have edited the .ini file just as directed and added all gametypes. Mapvote works for DM but nothing else. Man, am I getting tired.

Everyone should remember that UT2004 did not have this functionality even after a dozen patches. It took a mutator to allow cross-gametype voting. Dont hold your breath for Epic to have this built-in anytime soon, if ever. Look to the mod/mutator community if you want this done.

and if u did get it to post how u got it to work.
i have a maplist for each gametype and at end of match all u can vote for is what ever gametype the server is on.

Maybe your confussed? Map vote worked for game types out the box on ut2004. It didnt for ut2003.

Yes this works Great and Fine..
BUT
The draw back is that is if you use voting, its gonna look like crap. Its basicly a bug in UT that. Basicly for the vote list you will have all your INI code for the game cycle list on the screen to vote on. I just turned Voting off for not and it auto rotates fine.

But be warned if you turn voting on its not going to look pretty. I hope they can fix this later in a patch.
I had started converting my MapMixer mutator for use in UT3, however, due to UT3 missing one important function and a lack of support for another, it has been placed on hold until Epic fix these issues.

Oh, that's ugly. I was hoping you had figured out a better way. Maybe a map vote mutator will soon be coming, or Epic will fix that. (fingers crossed)

this works the same way as if you just put all the maps in each gametype list... and does look better... but you have to know the map to know which gametype your choosing. Does not work with team dm though.
still has some bugs like when you switch to warfare it's 1 against everyone else and you can't change teams untill that map is over. At least when I'm alone it did. Then when others joined they were put on the oposite team so it was like 10 on 1 lol :) but hey it works for now...
CustomUT has gametype voting but buggy as hell...

have you tried CustomUT? It allows you to press f5 for voting menu, then you can pick gametype, and specific map.

Well just for your info you dont need CustonmUT to run more than 1 gametype and have all the maps come up in the vote list. I have 27+ maps in my vote list I run Both CTF and VCTF and Custom maps in my Vote List with out running CustomUT. So if you need that info let me know!!

from what i had read about doing it within the game itself it was ugly. i use custom ut for our league servers, etc.. so it was easy to use on my custom server as im quite familiar with it. The method i read (by searching these forums http://gearsforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=592303) was the ugly one shown.
CustomUT allows for voting at anytime not just at the end.
the bottom line is to give people as much info as there is out there and then they can pick whichever way is easiest and looks the best to them. theres no secret to it.

Here Is how I did. Quite Simple Really:
Make sure you have map voting turned on "ALL" gametypes: IE: bAllowMapVoting=True
Here is the CTF gametype: Note: Both CTF and VCTF maps are on the same line

ye i dont think doing it that way would work for a dm, vctf, instagib, tm server. How would the people voting know which map is dm, which is vctf, which is tm? Unless im missing something.
I actually have something similar set in my ini file as I use some of the same maps for dm, team, and instagib. I have to list the map under each specificmapcycle to get it to show when voting under each gametype.
Thats one of the nice parts with CustomUT, I can actually have it run VCTF maps in a DM if I wanted to. User picks the gametype they want, and then the specific map, as long as you had predefined the map in the ini for each gamespecificmapcycles.

Well you saw the picture so dont tell me it dont work I have 27 CTF and VCTF maps in my Vote map list on my server hehehe So dont tell me it dont work ROFLMFAO :p I use it on my server and it works great!. As far as know what map is a CTF and what is a VCTF map most people already know what maps goes to what gametypes if a user plays those gametypes! So no worries there!

Loving the CustomUT! UT3 is so new and maps coming out all the time, NOT ALL will have the psychic ability to KNOW what map is what gametype. And with this CustomUT, well, name says it all, CUSTOMIZABLE! LOL! Very simple for everyone to see what's what, especially newly created maps.

On my server I run both CTF and VCTF Maps Only! Well if you play a specific gametype like CTF or VCTF all the time you will know what maps are CTF and VCTF unless your a complete freaking moron :D So like I said works for me and my users no problem. :p

Either way you want to do it, with a 3rd party util or from within the game itself works, use whatever fits ur needs, whatever you want, and keeps the peeps playing! Thats really the bottom line. I run more then just a vctf or ctf, so I wouldnt expect peeps to know all the maps names, gametypes, etc.. If it works for ya that way, great and more power to ya!
