I don't think either of you will be playing the game. Your hardware is too old.

Bullseye if you upgrade your GPU to DX9.c vid card and add some ram u may have a chance of running it but, it wont be pretty.

uhm, have a question, too.
I have a pentium D (yes, this is dual core) with 2.8ghz and a Geforce 7900GS graphics card. What should I upgrade firstly to get a better performance, the cpu or the graphics card?

Graphics card. CPU doesnt play that big of a role in this game.
It should run fairly well already though.

Minimum requirements for videocard are GeForce 6200 and ATI Radeon 9600 (Mid-level card of the same generation as your 9200)

my aftermarket fan and heatsink dont seem to help too much for this demo. FEAR heats it up to about 48 degrees, but man this game is cookin my processor at like 62 degrees! i know i need to upgrade my stuff, but i cant afford it.

Windows XP Pro SP2 , Vista Ultimate
P4 HT 2.80GHz 800MHz FSB 512kb
BFG Geforce 6200 OC 256MB AGP8x
1GB Crucial Dual Channel PC3200
SoundMAX Digital Audio

the game runs fine all the way down. i just seem to be havin problems with it crashin ingame. on 1024x768 it runs about 2mins and crashes with an error report (was running for hrs but not anymore, idk why?). on 800x600 it runs like 45mins and crashes. what gives? when i first installed it, it ran for hours on 1024x768, but now it dont even like to for 2mins! i have DX9c (august) and NVIDIA ForceWare 163.71. also, im curios to kno, does this game secretly run in DX8 mode when u turn it all the way down, cuz everything is so blurry and looks like DX8. any help would be appreciated. AND PLZ DONT FLAME ME FOR MY SPECS, THAT DONT HELP!

The CPU must go, it's slower than all single core sempron chips except for one. The D was a joke. just like the Pentium E after it. Check out the benchmark chart, it's the 3rd from the very bottom. Is this a dell computer?
http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=946&model2=882&chart=422
What mobo do you have? What type memory do you have in that? Is it RAMBUS? Your mobo needs replaced if you have that very slow, but very expensive RAMBUS memory? Is it a dell? It's an AGP card I bet, even so the card is the best part of what you listed.

no it's not a dell computer, I assembled it on my own (and had a low budget). Yeah, I see, very low :/
Motherboard would work with core2duo, it's a asus p5n-sli
and no, it's a pci-e x16 card
