Map won't save

try running the editor as admin. tell me if that works.

Can you give us some more detail? Possibly a step by step on what happens from when you hit File > save.... and thereafter?

Umkay, I saved my map in the MP folder, since its only a test map I didn't care where I saved it since I'd delete it when I learn the editor. Anywho, when I started up UE3 later the map was not in the folder I saved it in

Yes this is interesting.. It does not save it.. it appears however you can get your map back by clicking the drop down menu next to the open icon. This will allow you to open your map. Hmmm as fas as shown maps.. maybe it has to be cooked?

When using the game editor, levels will be saved to the following directory:

C:\Documents and Settings\<userID>\My Documents\My Games\Gears of War for Windows\WarGame\Unpublished\CookedPC\CustomMaps


I had the same problem, it appears it'll only save properly to your user directory.

You can save it anywhere except for the cookedPC folder.

All maps/packages and all unpublished content goes into your user directory.

I managed to save my map now, I made a new directory on my desktop and saved it there :)
