ut3 be smart epic!

ut99 has some of the best maps in any fps. People have been playing the game for 8 years and its because of the maps. If epic want to convert the old ut99 players to the game and want to keep brand new players playing ut3 for the next 8 years then they need (or any map makers out there need) to make remakes of the classic ut99 maps.

Someone will remake they anyway but probably not Epic. UT3 does have DM-Deck which has a green slimey theme this time.

if your gonna do that then do it like the ut99 version,, not the crappy ut2k4 version which is totaly to big and gay, do it like the ut99 version with all the small passages etc

agreed, the ut2k4 is sucky, dont worry though i will stay true atleast to the gameplay dynamic of the original ;)

i can imagine alot of ut99 maps will be remade if people think anything like me, its a good challenge to update the visual style and use the new engine features, with slightly less effort involved in the planning stages because you know the gameplay is already good!

Not too worried about maps so long as the UED3 is user friendly. The Community Map Packs will keep this game floating for a long time so long as it is.

I'm with you 110%...ALL the classics! Very important that dimensions & details, etc. remain the same though (i.e. UT2K4 FaceClassic was a joke)...they were designed perfectly and with specific intent...man I miss ALL of them!!

I cant wait for to get my hands on the UE3 ! I have a whole list of to-do's as soon as I can get it in my hands !!!!!!! I tend to make fun maps but am going to hands down put my mark on UT 3 with some intense maps for all the game styles that people tend to play! Any of us that map knows how good it feels when you have a hit map and you ping the server lists and see people who are playing your maps online or get in the game and see it on thier map votes !

I will leave the classic stuff to you die hard mappers ! as much as I enjoy playing them I 'll leave those maps for the folk that will do them great justice , But for the rest .... It will be an adventure like no other ! If anyone cares to hit me up with mapping help or just needs some advice you can find me at www.dfbutclan.com !
