I remember playing 4-way CTF and 4-way DM in UT99.
The mod allowed you to play with up to 4 teams (instead of the standard 2).

This was just awesome.

I hope there is someone here who knows how to make a mod/mutator like this. And, while you're at it: would it be possible to support more than 4 teams? I would fancy playing with 8 teams (4 per team), heck even with 16 teams of 2 players each!

You're aware that this was available for UT2K4 as well, right? I'm sure someone will come up with something. I loved playing CTF4 as well.

I Played TDM4 and CTF4 in UT2004, it was really active the first 2 years or so. It's dead now.... UT1 iTDM4 is still played, pickup @ quakenet somewhere.

I think someone will create 4 teams mods.

How would you even color code 16 teams?
"Red has taken the vermillion flag!"
"Where is he?"
"He's taking a short cut through the maroon base!"

The real question is would it be best to use a lot of extra space remaking the skins or should the group use the saturation/hue effects of a shader to change preexisting players (something that would allow the use of custom models, but probably make them look weird)?

Probably a mod like UT comp that sets skin colors.
UT3 you can change the skin colors with shaders, so itd be really easy. This would probably only work in a Last Team Standing/TDM /Objective Control gametype though.
