View Full Version : SLO-MO mod in UT3?

Greetings!

Would be sweet to see this mod in UT3. Called SLO-MO and what it does is slow the game speed down, players, weapons, etc about half way into game play for about 15 seconds. Players leave trails behind them as well. Have heard that Epic claims this couldn't be done in a game. Granted it's on a UT99 server, but would be awesome to see this mod implemented into UT3.

Only server I can find this mod out of all the UT servers still running and alive. Not my server btw, just a popular one I play on.

You have to vote the 'AAA SLO-MO with Deemers & Zoookah' in the weapon vote before voting a map.

Try it if you still have 99 on your machine. Would like to see what the feedback is.:)

I had a lot of fun with the bullet time mut for ut, but that was only single player. It doesn't make a lot of sense for multi does it? Maybe if you eat the wrong dandelion and the spores get everywhere and vast galaxy sized ribbons of gamma-theta-sodium-ultrabyproxy radiation super-duper energy fly through the atmosphere distorting the flow of the space time continuum! Oreos!

Anyway. What would cause it, and would everyone move the same or would just one player move at regular speed? What's "about half way into the game?" Is it timed? Is it not a relic or a weapon replacement?

If you wan't just slow game down , press "~" and type "slomo 0.5" - this modifies timeflow in game (default is 1.0 ,you can make it 10x slower "typing slomo 0.1").
Of course, it works if you play offline with bots, but I doubt if it works online :)

Why wouldn't it? I'm talking online here, not offline with boring bots.

It's a mutator, muts can be made to run at certain times in a game. Everyone on the server would move exactly as you would (slo-mo wise). I think it's set right now around the three minute mark for when it kicks in. Lasts about 20 seconds I believe. It is timed. Not a relic or a weapon replacement. Thats why I heard Epic said it couldn't be done. But hey, they have been wrong before!:p

But it's running right now on a UT server out of chicago. Check for yourself.

It's surely possible, it would just use the same command paaa mentioned in a mutator. I was kind of trying to draw out a question of why? Why does it make things more fun? If it's not a power or tactic I guess it becomes a map hazard like the sandstorm or random gale winds...
