We have many Onslaught Clans that incase Warfare is not there thing. That we can start back on Onslaught. The 2k4 Onslaught was a hit and many still play it today. We request Onslaught Mod for UT3.;)

warfare is a mix of onslaught+assault and epic said you still can make maps making use only of onslaught and/or assault so no mod need...

could make a cloned warfare gametype and have it search for a different prefix such as ONS and call the gametype onslaught. This way people can make ons maps and name it accordingly so they aren't all put inside one gametype. That should easily be done just by extending a class from the warfare gametype and change up some of the default settings and presto a new gametype. I just hope it hasn't gotten any more complex from UT2k4 :)

In 2004 there was a small mutator that changed BR to CTF and back, it was only about 50k, but for some reason people didn't want to use it and we ended up having an extra 5-50 megs on the HD just for the same exact map..

If people really want exact ONS I hope they'll find a way to add metadata to a map so that we don't end up having duplicate maps. I understand most of the data is stored in content packages now, but still.

What I like to see is Just Onslaught. You can keep it with the UT3 style
Take the Assult out of it. ONS was one of the Best games.

Want to make it for the ONS Ladder;)

We got a lot of ONS peeps wanting it.

Warfare is onslaught just bigger scale..Mappers can change it in a way to please ons fans theres no need to worry

Is the NoOrb mutator not enough? I don't see the difference beyond that, unless you are greatly concerned by some nodes being pre-built or not being connected to the network.

I have played UT99, 2k3, U2, XMP and UT2k4 and I am ready for UT3.

My Clan has been around for almost 5 years and we Won few online Tournaments with UT2004. We plan to do it again for UT3.;)

I have the UT3 Collectors Edition coming and will give the Mod building a try.
We have a few in our Clan that have built maps for UT2004 and have them on our 4 servers.

This is for the ONS community and we are all waiting for the Warfare to begin.
Its a shame Warfare was not included in the Beta.

Nov will be here soon.

I feel kind of ripped off if warfare is just ONS with the orb... I would really like to see good ol' ONS like it was. Perhaps we'd have to get rid of hoverboards as well. Add in dodge jumping, lets not forget anything!

If you want a better idea of what Warfare is about, I suggest you read the objective hints in this thread (http://utforums.epicgames.com/showthread.php?t=581093). You'll see it's not quite Onslaught at times.

What I like to see is both Warfare and Onslaught ladders.
I am sure over time we will have both tweaked for competition ladder play.

It would be like icing on the cake to have both.;)

If true Onslaught is available (or as close as possible), then some of those considering leaving UT when UT3 comes out, will stay -- I am referring to the best players out there (defintely not me) who still play UT2004 daily! They are not impressed with the beta demo.

With any luck, we will be able to play a full ONS only version if warfare does not suit our needs.

Man, after playing the beta, jumping in 2k4 felt like I was falling through a bucket of jello. :( I still love ONS, but we still have to give UT3 the benefit of the doubt since we really haven't played it. 2k4 is simply too outdated for me. UT3 has enough "tolerable" effects to make it worthwhile IMHO.

Doz, I had a 2k4 Lan party late August, and I completly forgot about you. I'm sorry. :( Had like 10 peeps here. I already have 4 people lined up with UT3 capable systems. Next summer, for sure, I will remember you. I might have a lil something this December, too. :) I gotta keep in closer touch with my t5k buddies. :)

ONS = no Hoverboard, 1st person view in vehicles, 3rd person zoom in vehicles, no Orb , Bolas on Scorpion, Chargable (controllable) Hellbender backturret, Scorpion has steering for KB/M, Hellbender has steering for KB/M, Raptor has aiming for KB/M, Mantarides are possible.

I can live with an Onslaught-goofy-looking-version (the one with the hoverboard) if people concentrate on the game instead of tricks... ...but the rest should be changed to have ONS.

ONS is my fav, and mostly played gametype on UT2004. Im making something simular called War, a gametype for my mod, Evil Reincarnated. Basicly all you do is defend your base, and destroy your opponent's base. No missions, no nodes, that all.

Hey Fly

UT3 gone Gold and the 4 year wait is almost over.
Onslaught was a blast playing it for 4 years.

Now we can check out the Warfare. I can not wait to Cast a match.
Its going to be so sweet to see everyone come back and be crazy all over again.

Its Rock & Roll time and Fly I hope to have a UT3 LAN party in Melbourne FLA.
Time to wake the neighborhood up. ;)

For me, nothing can compare to the fun that was Onslaught.

Personally, I would have been fine with UT3 being a UT2k4 clone (with better graphics and new vehicles).

We need all the Onslaught players to post here and give the Mod builders some Support and Ideas. A cloned UT2k4 ONS for UT3 would be Sweet.

I think the best idea at the moment is wait to see how Warfare plays. That way, instead of starting from scratch, they could simply build upon Warfare by either adding what we want or deleting what we don't want.

One thing I absolutely do not want integrated with Warfare: Assault.

I love ONS because of its speed of play. If I wanted to build my resources, I'd go play C&C :p

And don't forget, ONS may even be in UT3 and we don't even know it!! Just a few more weeks before we know the truth. :)

True that Fly. We just got 2 more weeks to see what Warfare is about.
I hope Epic has the 2003 Server issue fixed so Clans can buy Servers for Public and Privates. Got to keep our UT peeps playing and having fun.;)

as of these changes can be done relatively easy.

Yep, the NoOrb mutator can be found in the UT3Demo so no worries, and if the retail maps ain't suited for reg ONS there is a horde of mappers ready to deal with it. =) I want to give WAR a chance thou before I say there will be a need for it, nothing I've seen so far have convinced me that it sux.

I don't think any modding will be required. From what I've been able to see and read (ini files including) so far, Warfare is just ONS + orb + minor features that merely flesh out ONS gameplay. Remove the orb and you're back to ONS.

Pre-built nodes and optional nodes merely serve to enhance map flow and aid the design of good link setups. They facilitate the core ONS gameplay of capturing nodes.

The special objective stuff is nothing new. Some ONS maps already had similar gameplay, either through custom mapping (opening and closing bridges, ONS-Maelstrom's weaker nodes) or by merit of their design (controlling the 'deemer by controlling the nearest node, "outpost nodes", nodes in especially strategic locations, Dria's out-of-the-way corner nodes...).

I think Warfare will be fun, though, orb and all.

The reason I'd suggest still having the hoverboard is not having to hoof it a long distance when one is not near a node or vehicle. That is never fun. Now, I wouldn't mind a hoverboard No-Trick mutator so it's just basic transportation.

ONS is def my favorite game type in UT2004! Without ONS I would not be playing UT2004 today or have purchased the game. I was especially disappointed in the UT3 demo in that we did not get a chance to try Warfare. I will be waiting to see how Warfare turns out before I buy the game. If warfare turns out to be chasing the orb then I will be chasing Crysis and hanging out in the UT2004 ONS servers.

Many of my peeps and I have UT3 and played Warfare all day.
Feedback from my ONS guys of a wish list they want for ONS mod to play on competitive ladders.

Orb is fine but we like to adjust the spawn timing for ladder play.

The ONS peeps like to ride on the manta, add that Option would be sweet.

Link to there teammates to power up the node or kill a vehicle. add that Option

Spawning to another node was change to the glowing circle. lol
It just felt good running to the node to spawn else where. Now you have to hunt for the glowing circle and that takes time.
It funny when your yelling for your teammate where the hell are you. He yells I can not find the spawn port. We all LOL.

I must say the UT3 game Rocks. It has so much potential.
Epic has work hard to get us a patch out on Thanksgiving. It shows dedications.

To the Mod builders. Huge thank you. You are what drives this awesome game. we all wait to see what you build next. ;)
