Name- Resistance
How it Works- Basically your standard Warzone-like game, except your opponent keeps respawning till you destroy their spawn point. For locusts, they got the hole, and COG's got the Junker. To keep you from simply blowing up the hole/junker without any work involved, a shielding is placed infront of and above the spawn points, like the fight with the corpser where you shoot the locks and he falls in. You destroy all three locks, then fire at the object till it blows up, then proceed to killing the rest of the team to win. The spawn-time is set by players, you have unlimited to # of respawns, and even if your spawnpoint is destroyed, if you can destroy theirs and kill their team, you can still win.
What do you all think? I'm planning on doing this when the PC version comes out, but want public opinion before I put any effort into something people do or do not want ;p

Warzone is bad. Bad. Bad. Bad.
Execution is for real gamers who love a real challenge. :D
In short, I don't like the idea. Personally, I wouldn't play it. I don't even play Annex.

Well, you could have it somewhat like execution, but still, the idea is in its infant stage, and still working out how it would work.

I only speak from opinion from playing Warzone and Execution.
By taking out the ability to shoot someone down and kill them from 100 yards out, which you can do in Warzone, then it would be a great idea. You would just have to rethink the game type name. I then would consider playing it. Probably would. That, in itself, would be a challenge there. I'd hate it and love it at the same time. :p

Well, the idea came from the campaign and the locust keep on coming and I'd say "Holy crap, this'll never end unless I do something 'bout the grub hole!!". So I though wouldn't it be cool to have it the same way, where unless you DO destroy the grub hole or Junker, your enemies will keep reinforcing (then reinforcing the spawn point so you can't throw 1 nade and say "Lawl I win nuubz!!").
I would also add that I'd consider removing the sniper rifle, but not the torque bow, I feel that the sniper in this type of gameplay is a wee bit Overpowered :/

Okay. But I don't know about the ("Lawl I win nuubz!!") part. =/

I like the basic premise of the idea. But why does the objective need to be a spawn point? Instead of having it be grub holes and junkers, what if you made it something else? Players spawn and the like as usual and it would be played execution style, but your team gains points every time damage is inflicted upon the objective. Effectively it would work much like King of the Hill but each team has a hill and you gain points by applying damage to it, not by standing in it. After a certain amount of points the objective is "destroyed".
I guess this would pretty much be an entirely different mode from what you were thinking though, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Very good suggestion, and great idea, Krugun. I would LOVE objective based modes in general, like the generic "Get the suitcase" or "Plant the bomb" type of scenarios. Those would be delicious in Gears of War. *Begins reading UE3ed tutorial with hotpocket in hand*

You could also say, there are so and so points on the map, if you kill this many within this area, you gain control of that point, and gain access to the weapon that spawns there.
In short, the more you monopolize, the better your equipped to gain more territory (course the weapon that spawns is only obtainable by your team)
Also the idea of the "Why a spawn point?" is the same reason why I call it Resistance. The map if a field of battle in which controlling is important, so both sides throw everything at each other to take over this field (why? who knows, I'll post it when I get back from Sera next vacation trip).
Plus the objective to destroy the spawn point is so they stop spawning, also it promotes great amount of teamwork and aggression to win! My first idea of a map is similar to the Fenix Estate. The Junker is parked by the fountain in the front , and the grub hole in the basement. This will force teams to figure out flanking and using the houses multiple floors and rooms to get access to where they need to go. Like on the second floor, if the Locust gain access to it, they can use the snipers to take out COG's or vice versa (of course you can't use the snipers to destroy the barrier, I'll figure out some system to how that works). But you can collapse the room by shooting the propane tanks, removing snipers and suprise attacks, but also leaving you a vulnerable spot as the front door will be the only other means of assulting the junker.
You know, stuff like that.

I like it with warzone. If you say that execution is for players who want a challenge? What challenge? To finish off there pray before it gets up? NO. A real challenge is not getting downed in the first place. And going out of your way to save your teammate even though he's a trap. That's a challenge, that's teamwork. Execution is for people who don't want to have to work as a team, be heros, and can't deal with being beaten easily. Surviving is alot harder then killing.
More fun to.
And that game type sounds sweet. Needs some tweeking but the basic premise sounds awsome. Sounds like the Gears version of 2 flag CTF. I like it.

Yes, shooting someone from long distance and killing them from that same point is so hard to do. It takes sooooo much skill.
At least, in execution, your opponant can get back up and kill you. Which makes for a more interesting game because they have another chance at killing you, which makes you work harder for that kill.
It's for people who don't want to work as a team? Hmmmm, funny you say that because people in Warzone act like retards just like in any game type or online game. And trust me, surviving in Execution when you're all alone and the people you downed are back up looking for you, is more of a challenge then your lovable Warzone. Execution IS Gears of War. Up close and personal.

I had an idea of like a match where the map is very large and quite open. With lots of alley ways and roads. Set in a city street. Like some of the levels found in the SP game on 360. But its a MP match. But its 1 team of 1-4 against constantly respawning mixtures of NPC's. which slowly become more challenging and its kind of like a survival match.
Open area like large area with lots of buildings to enter and explore. With respawning ammo ofc.
You dont ever win the match but there is a time limit and if you survive very long you have a long time recorded. I dont know. Id enjoy that working as a team as things get harder :P. Maby have a Brumak or how ever ya spell it come in later on.
Looking forward to GoW for PC :P I like the editor video :P
