A plain old map editor for the PC version. I know you guys Epic. You made Pariah and that came with a map editor. It doesn't necessarily need to be a map editor, it could be more like a sandbox mod or like that Gmod in Half Life 2. I used to spend hours making things in Battlefield 2 sandbox mod, just recordin' the things that I made and putting them on Youtube.

I dislike sandboxes, they limit you in what you can build.

I prefer the more complex style of map editors, something that allows you to create anything you wish(if you know what your doing).
UnrealED works flawlessly for this.

You get to many basic and boring maps with just a sandbox style map editor, mapping isn't suppose to be easy.

The beauty of it is that its the same tool that the developers use(excluding the 3rd party applications like Maya and Max).

Would be a good idea if they put in a map editor for Gears 2. I played Pariah on the old Xbox and the Map editor was very easy to use also pretty good as well so it can be done.

Gmod was third party... Although it would be pretty awesome if something simular was implemented on the PC version...
Id buy it just too see how many locust my PC could deal with in one place.

It's a shame, I am addicted to my 360.
We need a Map Editor like FarCry Instincts,
then GoW would totally rule.
Halo 3 have a Map Editor which will splat down on us!
We need a Map Editor.

From what little experience I have, map editing actually isn't very hard if you're talking about basics. Sure, there's a learning curve, but in a few days you can easily make amateur maps. Assuming you don't care about making intricate landscapes and just want to plop objects into simple rooms. Anything that you would be able to do in a sandbox editor is possible in UnrealEd and I'd assume it's fairly simple.

This way, if you just want to make a simple map and place the stock resources down and the like (without worrying about scripting), you can, and it won't be that hard. And the people who want to get into more complex things (i.e. total conversions, new textures/models, scripting) aren't limited either.

Most editors aren't that hard if all you want to do is place random **** everywhere and enjoy it.

Pariah was made by Digital Extemes... and a sandbox would be boring. same old stuff over and over again. Unreal games come with UEd and you rarely have the same thing over and over again. sure there might be 1 or two textures in common with some maps but it certainly isnt the same old stuff over and over again.

I know this was for UT3, but the same thing still applies:

Silent_Assassin: Will UT3 have a easy match modifier for casual gamers, similar to Forge in Halo?
MarkRein[Epic]: You mean an in-game editor that lets you rearrange the furniture as opposed to the professional tool we actually made the game with? No, we give you the real editor we use and all the power you can handle.
