Will there be new maps and other cool gears stuff since the 2 map pack is now free?

I was just wondering because the release of halo 3 epic must feel like gears is the main competitor for xbox live gameplay so is epic going to do anything new with gears to make it ready for september 25th?

We are not supposed to compare games in these forums.....as for any new stuff.Epic is hard at work on the PC version of Gears, so we'll have to wait until after its release to see if anything is coming our way.

It seems the promise of supporting their game with new downloadable content lasted for exactly 2 map packs (or more precisely 1 and a half map packs). From the way Epic was talking, I thought we'd be getting alot more.

The Windows version is supposedly getting 2 new maps but since they want those to be exclusive to that version, where does that leave us Xbox 360 players?

well i feel the same way and i think that if epic wants people to keep playing gears after halo they should release the content that is coming standard on the PC version of the game. I at least think that we should get the content if we cant get to play with those users

I realise your point, but look at it from a developers point of view. The PC version's maps will be constructed differently than the Xbox maps will be made. As such, you would in effect be making the same content twice, unneccarcerily. Would you rather see that time spent making the same map twice, or would you rather it be spent on making a map which is exclusive to Xbox?

Sure, the problem is people highly doubt that they are even making any exclusive maps for the 360 anymore.

Microsoft publishes both. They won't steal any of Halo 3's potential thunder in any way. Gears will fade to the background while its Halo's time. They're not competitors as much as they are brothers.
