The original UT had some really memorable tracks! Right now I actually have the facing world, under water base assault tracks on my mp3 :D

The sequels however didn't really have any memorable tracks at all but Unreal 2 had some really good music but it wasn't made by Epic.

Will the guy who did the score for the original return to do the score for UT3? What happened to him anyway?

There was more than one guy... Alexander Brandon was probably the primary, but also Michiel Van den Bos, Necros were others I recall the names of.

I don't really know what happened, but I think Brandon got a job as a sound editor or something for another company...

Well i rekcon since they have spent more time developing UT3 than (im just guessing here) most of the other UT games i'm hoping for a great score to go with it. Something really inspiring that make you just want to leap in a tank and go kill something :P

I can absolutely 100% relate to what the original poster was saying... I have to say the music for the original UT back in 99 (i think the year was) had the most memorable music of any game i can think of right now. The music for that game back then was pretty much revolutionary coz no other game really truely supported music in such a way UT did. The music absolutely SET THE FEEL of the level and the tracks were simply breathetaking, i think my favourate original track is still the one called RUN, which i still listen to now, very fast techno/trance track, cant remember the name of the level it was on now but it was a DM.
I have to say when UT2003/2004 came, i was very disapointed with the music, even though the game totally rocked, but the music and feel of the original wasn't just quite there...
So after hearing that the original UT music guy is doing the score for UT3 i am preying and hope to god that they can deliver that SAME godlike music that was in the original UT.

Edit : just remembered the DM level, Turbine.... best music in any UT game so far

woah woah woah!!! That is awesome! And Jesper Kyd OMG!!! I don't know if you guys have played any I/O Interactive games but Jesper Kyd does the sound track for all of them and I don't think he has disappointed me yet. That guy makes some really good music!
