I was browsing IMDB.com's forum section, (if you could call it that) and noticed a few people talking about how cool it would be if a Crow game was made and how cool it would be.
If a Crow Mod/TC was made with UE3 powering it and utilzing the gameplay mechanics of Gears with a few modifications. Along with the right gameplay style, and sticking to the movie, (unlike most movies to games) it might be a worthy idea.
Your thoughts?

Yea I think that'd be cool, except that its copy right material.

Well, so long as no one is making a profit, and it remains purely fan based and freely distributed isn't it okay? I mean, didn't people make characters based on copyrighted material for games like Quake and stuff? Yeah, my knowledge of the mod scene is slightly out of date. :p
Anyways, yeah it's a cool idea, but it does sound like a massive amount of work.

Yea your probably mostly right, but there are some larger companies which dislike there materials being used in other games.
If I remember correctly whom ever developed the Halo UT mod was required to get permission from Bungie.
There was a mod for C&C being developed based on StarCraft, called StarCraft 2.
Blizzard disliked the modding team's idea for using StarCraft material and I believe ended up sewing them.

I'm running a mod that has copyrighted material at the moment.
Ashura: Dark Reign.
Sega has been notified god know how many times now, and definately knows about us but doesnt seem to mind.
As long as its non profit based things are usually cool.
Who knows if The Crow mod gets made it might help the company that creates them, get some people to buy the dvds so they can get some money back on the piece of crap Crow 4: Wicked Prayer.

It's not alright, and will probably be shut down like some of those Stargate mods have been (and will be). The only reason "some" mods (i.e.-Goldeneye: Source, etc.) have not been shut down is that some of them are sorta "trapped" between "who owns what" kind of thing. Rare owns the game, EA owns James Bond, etc.
