Not my job to make public statements about features, much less about Gears PC which I'm not even on, but I started the discussion earlier based on the Gears PC version which will be coming with the editor.
I wouldn't hold my breath on being able to simply download maps to your 360, but again, that's not for me to say.

I'm pretty sure from comments made elsewhere by Epic or Epic's people suggested clearly that the Xbox 360 won't have user downloadable maps or an editor. User created content generally isn't something consoles have anyway. I was surprised to hear that PS3 will have UT3 mods and such. So I guess there's some hope from that. But I'd just go ahead and get it for PC since that's how you will get the editor to make your own levels.

its for the better, would a console play like to play map subtractedcubewithmeshes? honestly not me. id rather have epic toss us the editor for the PC and dedicate their map making time towards the 360 so that way they get the best that the devs can make. though that doesnt mean that there couldnt be a contest where the winners' maps would be featured on the 360.

i think that should be the one advantage the gears pc has over the 360 version, a map editor instead of single player chapters and new maps and new game types. i want that stuff as downloadable contenet even if it isn't for 6 months
i rest my case

I think Cliffy B said in a demonstration of Gears PC that if someone makes a great level for Gears PC, then they would put that level over to the Xbox Marketplace and from there, you could buy it and the creator would get money. Ah, here's the video. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/22197.html, enjoy!

Now, imagine if you can make maps on the Xbox 360 just like Far Cry that would be spectacular! :D

Thats a completely different type of a map editor, Far Cry's map editor is more of just a simple sandbox.
The editor that'll be coming with gears of war does alot more then just make simple maps based off the same scenery the game is on, were talking complete total conversion, you build whatever you like.
You could turn Gears into a WW2 shooter or a Star Wars Jedi fighting game, the only thing that limits you from creating whatever you want in the GoW editor(UnrealED) is your imagination, skills, and of course your cpu.

Now this is the kind of thing I need to talk about.
A Map Editor.
Like I said in another topic, FarCry Instincts has a Map Editor.
Over 150 objects to put wherever you want within 80 metres of land.
Also, Halo 3 has a Map Editor, but I dont think we might get struck by it because it costs to edit the Trademarked maps.
But anyway, imagine making your OWN Map..
Those 3 words people, 'Your own Map'.
Now stop dribbling and do something about it :D

Eh? You know, I'm probably misunderstanding, but it sure sounded like you just said that it costs money to edit Halo 3 maps. Either that or you're talking about the object limit. You have to pay "virtual dollars" to build things, and this is to 1) balance Forge out (because aside from being an editor it is also a game, where you "compete" with other editors), and 2) so you don't place so many objects that the FPS drops to 3. It's like Bioshock. Sure, you're spending money at the vending machines, but it's not REAL money.
