just watched E3 cliffy B came out and BAM
Gears is comeing out for PC
Windows Vista And XP compatable..
5 new single player chapters
1 new multiplayer game type
and new maps,
oh and i forgot it is also goign to have new achevments..
there was nothing talking about this being downloadable for the 360 users:mad:
but lets uf hope so...
if not i will be buying gears for the PC..

Why wouldn't they mention it? The fact that's it XP compatible is good news, since it's not solely being used as a selling point for Vista. But still, I hope something is confirmed soon. One way or another. :p

Actually scratch that. I am annoyed as hell. First Sigma going on the PS3 when Black's been out 2 years with the xbox only to have it go to the PS3 with overhauled graphics, new abilitys, new stages, new boss fights, and a new playable character. Twice in less than a month. And the last Gaiden came out on the original box.

And now Gears goes over to PC with a brand new chapter. PC games are usually $50. I'm guessing Gears is at $60. So that's equal to Gears. The new maps that we waited for are going to be free around the time Gears PC releases. Maps are worth the time I've had with them it's more the waiting. And then having to pay $15 making the game $75 (85 for some of us Collector's buyers) when it's coming out for the PC for less? Come on...

I'm glad that I'm just speculating on the price tag of any content coming out. Do I hope it comes out? Yeah. Do I hope it's free? Hell yeah. But if they have to charge to get it on there, it's better on there than not.

So yeah. I'm annoyed.

They want the content on PC cause they want to sell the game, but they could charge for it as a download on 360 and make a ton there too. I'd pay for it, I wouldn't be happy about it, but I'd pay. I'd rather pay 1200 MS points for it then not get it at all, cause there's no way I'm buying the whole game twice.

The way I see it, if the game was marketed to us as an "Xbox 360 Exclusive title" as it was, and still is, then if the game is released on PC it should be either the same or all owners of the 360 version allowed to gain FREE access to DLC to make it the same. And if they do plan on this "intersystem xbox live--PC" crap, then all versions of the game will have to be compatible with one another, and we will likely get the content, whether we are forced to pay for it or not.

All I can say is that if 360 users don't get all of the content for free (Excluding the map modder and stuff like that) then I just have more of a reason to play Halo 3 instead.

If the new content is not going to be on xbox 360 for free, then I gonna sell my xbox 360, gamertag with 12 months live, my games. And get Gears for my new computer.

And why are they not saying something about xbox 360 content? Because there is non. Is there any reason to not saying it?

Here's the thing - MS knows it can get away with charging whatever it wants for us 360 owners, because it's the only way we can get it. But MS also knows that PC owners won't fall for it - they're gonna continue to get new content for free - look at the map editor.
We're stuck with an outdated game, while PC owners get a version with better graphics, more options, extra content, for a hell of a lot less money. This is a load of BS.

if the new SP content is Pc only then if there is a gears 2 us 360 owners will not understand it because we have missed the extra content. Note the release date is going to be close to Unreal tournament 3.
i know which game i will buy and it is not available on any format yet and that is the Pc version of UT3. i mean how long will it take for those modders who buy UT3 to replicate and maybe improve upon the mulitplayer/single player aspect of gears. you could have gears of UT. humans verses the skaar only ut may support more players.

new game mode is either deathmatch or CTF it will be nothing special but if microsft wan't gears to be linking xbox's and Pc's then we will get the new content on the 360 so that we can interact.

pc made maps:- if they fundemantally work with the same engine code then thwere is no reason why when a pc user hosts a game wi9th a new map that 360 users don't get it downloaded to there harddrive for free.

Why should we spend more money on a console when most of us have a PC anyway? Then, when we buy the game on the console, after being promised a 360 exclusive, they sh*t all over us and release a PC version that's improved in every way possible.

I agree with much of this thread. Why would they bother to compound their problems by having 2 "bugged" and "unfinished" versions of GOW available. They havnt even managed to release a bug-free (I know to have a game bug free is nigh on impossible but come on, the game was far from perfect when released and still not much closer) version for the original format, now they will be fixing bugs/glitches for 2 formats.

The PC will have many advantages over the 360 for gaming, and now they are using gamertags. achievements and 360 controllers with the vista games....why have a 360?!?

The only advantage the 360 has over a PC is portability. I work away a lot and would not be able to take my PC with me, but my 360 I can.

This decision is all about the $$$ and possible a sign of the death of the console. If developers can release games for the PC that can be played online lag-free i.e. using a server client such as steam like Lost Planet Vista already does, then why would gamers put up with lagging games.

Maybe in the not so distant future we will see a rise in more portable and cheaper high end PC's instead of money being spent on developing new consoles.

you do know even if they do release new chapters they wont release new achievements. they are going to have the achievements exclusively to PC since thats the only way they can do another 1250GP.

in your gamertag it will say Gears Of War (PC) just like it says for halo 2

also if they do make GoW cross platform which doesnt look like yet. then you will expect another patch for the 360. but you have to think if They delay and delay pc version all the way to GoW2 release then you def know it wont be cross platform.
