Anybody that's seen the Shield knows that Kenny (Who play Curtis Lemansky) would be able to play a good Baird. Only worry would be weather he'd be able to pull of the accent.

To be honest I still think they should make it a CGI movie. At least then everyone would sound and look right.

If anything, this should playout like LOTR meets Star Wars.
You know, a good old fashion Epic Movie(no...i'm not referring to that spoof movie).

I mean, i love Sin City and 300 as much as the next person, but the way it is done wouldnt suit GOW well, in my opinion.
It may sound strange, but that style of film, moves too "slow" for Gears of War, and is way too playful.

I think That Nick Chinlund HIGHLY resembles Marcus Fenix facially and he has played several roles as a soldier. Plus he's a fresh and relatively unknown face to the big screen. That's something that will make GoW a better overall movie. Nobody likes the same old actors. Some fake scars in the makeup department and he will be identical to Marcus.

He's another actor whose not well known in the movie industry. I think he resembles Baird pretty well minus a few scars (which can again be added in). He actually played Ephieltes, the mangled man who betrayed Leonidas when he was refused admittance into the Spartan army in the movie 300.

Being a good actor and contributing to a character doesn't always mean you have to look like the character. I picked Thom Jane to play Dom because he can definitely play a good shoot em up role. Take The Punisher for example, the storyline itself wasn't all that great, but he did a damn good job playing his part. Some of you will say "Dom was Hispanic, he can't play Dom". But I feel that when you are trying to turn a video game into a movie, sometimes following too closely and and mimicking it ends up making a poorer outcome. I think Thomas Jane would do a good job with the role of Dom.

Jason Scott Lee playing Sgt. Kim for the GoW movie would be excellent. Not only does he resemble Kim in both look and Heritage, but he is also an actor who has fallen off the radar for awhile now. A good actor. All he would need to do is bring some of his performance from Soldier into the GoW scene. I believe that there could be no better an actor for this character.

Until now, nobody has really thought or cared about an actor to play Carmine, most likely because of his demise in the game. I, however, have been determined to put a face on him even though he wore a helmet throughout the game. I picked Giovanni Ribisi because he is a young, experienced actor in the frantic war genre. He is known mostly for playing Medic Irwin Wade in Saving Private Ryan. That was his breakthrough role in his acting career and he is now well respected in the acting business. I feel that Giovanni Ribisi, like in Saving Private Ryan, will do an excellent job and not let us die-hard GoW fans down.

The decision here is a unanimous one. R. Lee Ermey has proved throughout his acting career that no man can play a better military commanding officer role than he can. He was also in the military in real life and even fought in Vietnam, so he knows how the whole military thing works. As Hoffman, I can definitely see Ermey bringing home the goods for the GoW movie.

Movie Cast

Anyone know who's starring in the movie!? I'd very much like to see Batista as Marcus 'cus he's got the same appearance as him...I'm not sure about how well he acts 'cus I've not seen him act but if he's as good as the Rock then I'm down wit' that! Lester Speight would be great for Cole 'cus he's hugely built and does Cole's voice in the game and has a good appearance as him also. Good ol' Ryan Reynolds would make a good Baird or possibly Josh Lucas 'cus the stuff I've seen him in he seems to have the same attitude as Baird! Well I'm a huge fan of Harry Gregson Williams' work and I think he'd do a brilliant job 'cus come on, we've all played 'Metal Gear Solid 2 - 4' and we've heard what he can do, he's a great music man. I actually agree, I would love to see a fully animated feature. You may get actors to represent the guys, but they will never actually cut what the game is and represents. Final Fantasy: Spirits Within did a great job, too.

I think either way that they do the movie, it will upset some people. A third want it one way, another third want it the opposite, and the final third just don't care.

Personally, I'm fine with either one. It'd be neat to see who they find to play each of the characters, but CG would be an easier tie-in with the game (almost like a MGS4 cut sence.)

People are suggesting that guy from The Mummy (his name passes me...) and to be honest, i think hes a little too old, with not enough energy or clear english to play the part (i dont mean to sound racist or anything). Frankie G is my perfect Dom to be honest...

Augustus Cole - Lester Speight (Cole's VG voice actor, incase some arent aware) No real arguement here... Hes the only guy who could pull of the badass, energetic black stereotype without looking like a tard... HOWEVER, if Epic dont get him then it should be...
- Djimon Hounsou: Hes badass. Hes buff. Hes black. What else do you need?

Damon Baird - Neal McDonough because he has the correct facial features, the right colouring in all aspects, correct skin tone, eye colour, hair colour... A perfect Baird.

Minh Kim - Jason Scott Lee because he has the second closest resembelance to the character that ive seen (the best resembelance being Frankie G to Dom) and he can kick ass and look badass. Plus, hes a good actor.

Antony Carmine - This could well be anyone who is young and fit, between the ages of 17 - 21. The reason im restricting age is because of the maturity of the character and the voice aswell. Carmine seems quite young with his immaturity and the way he goes about things (like early on Gears 1, where theyre on the helicopter and he says ''WOW! Your THE Marcus Fenix?!'') so having a younger actor would help add to the affect of the character, his death (people always take more effect depending on age, with the younger they are, the more shocking it is) and would benefit the movie overall.

DIRECTOR PREFERANCES: **** Spielberg and Lucas. They both made disasters of recent movies, that ruined some of the best movies ever made (of course, im refering to Star Wars and Indiana Jones). Uwe Boll COULD pull this off, but i agree with those who talked about the Sin City style movie, although they arent the best of movies. The coloures should all be there, but the contrast should be heightened and so on and so forth but you catch my drift.

MUSIC: ALOT of people have mentioned people who should do the music and sound for the film but to be honest, they should keep the original soundtracks, to keep the feeling that 'THIS IS GEARS OF WAR', not ''hmm, this film is alot like gears of war...''

These are also predictions. Doesn't mean its going to happen. Most of the cast will probably make a lot more than what I put down. The only pick I'm not too crazy about is the Bruce Willis pick, you almost have to pick an unknown to do it. RDJ I can live with, he is the right kind of smartass. I think Ryan Reynolds could do the part to but having someone with more experience in the acting field would be nice. Not to mention RDJ just got off Iron Man.

Marcus Fenix - Dominic Purcell (cos hes badass, right build and cool voice)
- Gerald Butler because he can pull off the badass main character SO FREAKIN WELL! In 300 for example, hes got the right build, hes not too small or too tall, and he can ****ing KICK ASS! OBVIOUSLY, there would need to be facial work to help him get scarred and **** but im sure it could work. PLUS hes not so high budget so it would be awesome!

Dominic Santiago - Frankie G (correct build and looks PLUS hes hispanic-ish and has black hair...) People are suggesting that guy from The Mummy (his name passes me...) and to be honest, i think hes a little too old, with not enough energy or clear english to play the part (i dont mean to sound racist or anything). Frankie G is my perfect Dom to be honest...

Augustus Cole - Lester Speight (Cole's VG voice actor, incase some arent aware) No real arguement here... Hes the only guy who could pull of the badass, energetic black stereotype without looking like a tard... HOWEVER, if Epic dont get him then it should be...
- Djimon Hounsou: Hes badass. Hes buff. Hes black. What else do you need?

Damon Baird - Neal McDonough because he has the correct facial features, the right colouring in all aspects, correct skin tone, eye colour, hair colour... A perfect Baird.

Minh Kim - Jason Scott Lee because he has the second closest resembelance to the character that ive seen (the best resembelance being Frankie G to Dom) and he can kick ass and look badass. Plus, hes a good actor.

Antony Carmine - This could well be anyone who is young and fit, between the ages of 17 - 21. The reason im restricting age is because of the maturity of the character and the voice aswell. Carmine seems quite young with his immaturity and the way he goes about things (like early on Gears 1, where theyre on the helicopter and he says ''WOW! Your THE Marcus Fenix?!'') so having a younger actor would help add to the affect of the character, his death (people always take more effect depending on age, with the younger they are, the more shocking it is) and would benefit the movie overall.

DIRECTOR PREFERANCES: **** Spielberg and Lucas. They both made disasters of recent movies, that ruined some of the best movies ever made (of course, im refering to Star Wars and Indiana Jones). Uwe Boll COULD pull this off, but i agree with those who talked about the Sin City style movie, although they arent the best of movies. The coloures should all be there, but the contrast should be heightened and so on and so forth but you catch my drift.

MUSIC: ALOT of people have mentioned people who should do the music and sound for the film but to be honest, they should keep the original soundtracks, to keep the feeling that 'THIS IS GEARS OF WAR', not ''hmm, this film is alot like gears of war...''

Well I also think Russell Crowe is the best choice for Marcus becuase if you put an action guy like Willis or Purcell as the main character everyone would just write the movie off as just another bad video game made into a movie. I agree that Dominic Purcell is the perfect Marcus. He looks like him and he's gritty. I can see him chainsawing a locust with a bad ass look on his face. And he's in great shape.

But Crowe is a descent choice too. He was great in gladiator. But I don't think Crowe would even consider this part. He seems to want to do movies that are the opposite of his role as gladiator and plus he's out of shape.

I like Bruce as an actor too, but he's too old for this & would change Marcus' character. He's great as an action hero but leans more to an underdog type whereas Dominic would bring more of the blood thirsy intensity I would rather see.

If Butler didn't have such a strong accent, he would make a good candidate also because of he also has that blood thirsty intensity. But that accent is a definite NO. Dominic has a good voice for the role.

I don't think people would write off Bruce or Dominic. Bruce never gets written off as he is established. Dominic is an up and comer & proven as a bad ass from Prison Break and I think people would be receptive to him now, whereas before Prison Break they wouldn't be.

If this movie is made well & marketed correctly, this wouldn't be a factor. When 300 came out not many people knew Butler & I'm sure most people would have said to put in Crowe for the reasons you stated & not given Butler a chance. If a movie is made well & the actor playing the part does well, recognition will come to the actor & audiences will see the movie. Crowe is a great actor but not every movie he makes is a blockbuster. A lot depends on the movie as well. Gears of War,, if made right could be great much like Aliens.

No Franky G as Dom. He's an alright actor. But his show from FOX "Johnny Zero" didn't do all that great. But I can agree...Josh Duhamel as Baird is a good cast. He has the hair like him and everythnig. All he needs now is the goggles ;). Baird is a favorite character of mines, I'm just alittle unsure about the rest of the cast members you picked. We need serious actors here. Actors that will bring the views onboard like for example......cast they had for The Dark Knight. We need serious actors like them. Me too and we could meet Carlos. Or it to open during the end of the Pendulum wars and beginning of Emergence day. Instead of a 1 minute dialogue about that with them jumping years ahead as they look for the resonator. Maybe even end with Marcus going to jail leaving it open for a sequel. I don't want just 1 movie. If done right it could be a great trilogy. They could cut the years down too so that you don't have to worry about the different ages of the characters.

Im fine just about everything but I dont think Dominic Purcell is a good enough actor to be the lead. My first choice for Marcus is Russell Crowe (Gladiator) then Gerard Butler(300), then Dominic Purcell. I think Edgar Ramirez (The Bourne Ultimatum) looks exactly like Dom. I dont care that much who gets the role of Kim but Im hoping for Ken Watanabe (The Last Samurai) but Im fine with Jason Scott Lee. I would love to see Tommy Lee Jones (Men in Black) or Clint Eastwood (Unforgiven) play Hoffman but I doubt either of them would take that role.

Dom is probably the deepest character in GoW. Which means that you would have to cast someone who actually has talent. My first choice is Benicio Del Toro. But I dont think he can handle the action and he probably just wouldnt take a movie like this. So my second choice is Edgar Ramirez.

A few days ago I would have agreed with you 100% but I watched “The Condemned” a few days ago and I actually liked it, surprised myself. So I’ll agree with you 80%.:)

I actually agree, I would love to see a fully animated feature. You may get actors to represent the guys, but they will never actually cut what the game is and represents. I've been a supporter of this casting choice for a while now. Hell, you could use some of his Prison break costars for this movie. I'm sure Amaury Nolasco would make a great Carlos Santiago. How bout Robert Knepper grows a beard and bulks up a bit and plays Dizzy? Leste Speight had a cameo in Prison Break, and he voiced Cole!
