Dear Epic,

First, thank you for an amazing game and hopefully many more to come. Thank you for your continued improvement and dedication to the game. Now, I have a favor to ask. Can you add an option to turn off the weapon box in the top right hand corner? I have just purchased a plasma tv, which burns in very quickly and easily, and am all ready seeing a slight burn on the tv. If you could make it so that if fades away soon after changing a weapon or reloading that would make me and many other people very happy. Please consider adding this as I enjoy the game but don't want to ruin my $2000 television. Thank you and I look forward to any future correspondance.

Best Wishes,

ProfessorStreet

Dammm, that sucks bro. If someone spends $2000 grand on something, it shouldn't **** up if its new. That would be the people who made the tv's fault, not these geniuses who created gears :D

Uh, bro its in the options to have your weapon fade out when not in use. While you're there set the colours to vibrant as default should be another world for lifeless. ;)

The weapon fade out only works in single player. In multiplayer you always have the box.

i have the same problem,
a option to fade/ hide the hud would work in my case.

Also i have been playing gears for while now, and when i change the channels on my plasma its showing red dots randomly .
My quess its burned in pixels because the gears splash screen as well during bleed out
is showing a whole load of red.

TIP for plasma buyers/ owners, make sure the plasma has an option to shift
the whole screen every 5 minutes, as well having the option to turn on a whiteboard "this will clear the screen a bit"

And finally never walk away from the plasma leaving it on the splashscreen
and go to the toilet. switch it to television instead!

to prevent burn in, turn your contrast to 50 or below for the first 100 hours. youll be fine after that

Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate it. I'll try the contrast thing. I still think it would be a good idea to have the option in multiplayer though, just for peace of mind. Thanks again.

there's no need for an lcd if you don't want it. a plasma just needs some extra care to keep it in good shape. it offers better picture than an lcd, as long as you take care of it.

here's a good article on some steps you can take to avoiding burn in for the first 100-200 hours:
