Hi I wanted to buy a new XBOX 360 ELITE but I heard if you switch xbox's, that it will take longer to get the SERIOUSLY achievement because the kills are stored on your XBOX. is this true?

How unfair is that! Surely they`ll have some kind of record on the xbox site, it has everything else? It even records your mates Achievement points if you play co-op on any game on your own hard drive, so....seems kinda harsh that your acheivement would be wiped. Hope you get it sorted ^_^

First of all. Its not duh buy a memory stick to transfer your kills.

Your kills are not recorded to your HDD. They are linked with your gamertag. Buying a new XBOX will do nothing to your work already done towards seriously.

It can, dependent on your HDD. Although your kills are not directly stored through your HDD, the counter interacts with the HDD. If you preform HDD system maintenence with certain version of HDDs, your HDD with set all counters to 0. If you use the HDD transfer cable, it will not reset your kill count.

All of your achievement progress is stored in your profile, so you can go over to a friend's house and recover your gamertag there and keep adding to it. It "roams" with you.

Unfortunately, early hard drives DO set all non-essential counters to zero. I've tested it enough to know this.

Well IF Underfire has bought an Xbox 360 recently then he shouldn't have any problem with the Hard Drive. An Xbox 360 Elite is definitely worth it if you are a media junkie and want to do a hell of a lot of downloading/viewing etc and you have the right HD television/surround sound system at your disposal.

Also if you are just buying an Xbox 360 Elite for the hard drive, just buy the hard drive separately. It comes with a transfer cable to easily and quickly transfer your data over.
