Hey all, terribly sorry if this was previously asked. the search function doesnt seem to work well for me.

anyway, my question is, can you import textures, static meshes, ect from Unreal 2 into UT2004? or am i lying to myself and U@ actually runs under the UEngine 2. in which case is it possible to smhow convert the files? there are allot of the static meshes from U2 that i would like to use to make a level in UT2004.

and just anuther question to sqeeze in. is it possible for 2 ppl to work on a level each and then when theyre done, somehow merge the 2 levels together without having to redo the work of the other level?

thanks for the help in advance. theyre prolly both really noob questions but i just wanna clear everything up before i DO get my hopes up...

Pretty sure someone's already done this, I don't know where to find them though.

If you have Unreal 2 level editor, you could export statics, and then import them in UT2004. Oh, and merging 2 maps in one can be done. Copy & paste. :) Of course, you'll have to adjust stuff here and there, but it can be done.

I thought the exporter was disabled in U2's editor?

I've done this type of thing by saving the part of the map I want to put in another map as a Prefab. You have to select the brushes, static meshes, lights, etc. that you want and then open the prefab browser and click Edit -> Create fom Selections. Then choose the package and the name for saving. It will be saved in the Prefabs folder. Then open the other map (the one that will be recieving it), open the prefab browser, select your prefab's name, close the browser and then right-click anywhere in the map and select Add Prefab. The advantage is that you have that 'piece of map' stored on your prefabs folder if you need.

I hope it helps.
