... get the host 50 ranked matches achievements in annex? In the news article that was on the xbox.com it said that you cannot get kill based achievements in the game mode, so does this mean that I can get the host achievement in it?

Probably, it's a pretty general achivement and Rod said general achievements like "Always Remember Your First" will be available in Annex. I'd check the FAQ thread but I don't see why it wouldn't, it's not a detriment to people who already have the achivement and it's not like the higher kill count in Annex matters just for a hosting achivement
