I'm going to try and be reasonable with this post, but this patch has really killed Gears of War for me. I understand the issue with people going against a team and getting raped, but all they did is take away that issue (somewhat, it's still possible) and create a different one. The right way to fix it was to create some kind of team vs. team matchmaking system, but I feel like Epic just took the easy way out. It pisses me off that Microsoft and Epic are bragging about GoW being THE next-gen game, when Halo 2's online features were far superior.
I really don't even care about my rank at all, I just can't play enough to keep it high. What I do enjoy is earning achievements and playing against people who are better than me...you're only as good as your competition. Playing unranked matches with friends can be fun, but it's not going to give you the same experience.
The game definitely had it's flaws but it was a blast online for the past two months, to me and I'm sure many people, it's now only worse. The real problems are all still there, and playing with friends is even more of a pain in the ass. I don't see why they would fix such a controversial issue and then leave things like out of map glitches and roadie run glitches still in the game and becoming more and more common.
