View Full Version : Quick Question About Tagging

Okay, I was thinking about grenade tagging after I was playing against an entire team who did it constantly. Anyways, I began to contemplate on the situation.
If the tagger tags me, I am able to jump and hopefully kill him. But if I miss he still lives etc. Now, if I(or teamate) jumps into another teamate, we both blow up. But, I cannot jump into one of the TAGGERS teamate and kill them. I know friendly fire is off, but under logic doesn't that tag explosion belong to me now since it is on my effin' body? I just think once the tagger doesnt have control of the grenade, the person who got tagged is in control. Just speculating.. not going to change though.

also.. i hate how some times you can be touching the tagger after he tags you and he doesnt feel a thing, and other times he will die with you.. its hard to judge.

I think we should get credit for killing a tagger. Also giving the tagger the win when it should have been a tie(if you both are the last alive) really sucks and this one thing alone would make a difference if it were fixed. Being able to kill anyone in vacinity of the blast would make tagging more balanced.

usually when im tagged i just shotgun the tagger, unless hes one of those people who roadie runs up to you and another person is next to you shooting randomly with the lancer, but apperently your character can't rip a grenade off his body...intressting.

if your tagged and any of the opposing team is next to you that did or didn't tag you they should blow up also, when the grenade goes off... and what ever annunaki 23 said...

I would agree with the OP. I think it should effect both teams equally...if nothing else, it would make you think twice about tagging in certain situations.
I don't really have a problem with the play mechanics of the frags...but I am in the crowd that thinks the point system etc... might benefit from some revising.
I'm sure there are some people here that would agree with me, but one move that I feel is highly overlooked is blind tossing the frags. Sometimes you can take out multiple people, or one person...and if not you can work them into a bad position by changing their focus or possibly stunning them. I use it all the time. I rarely even stick anymore...save a desperate situation.

I'm often confused about how gernade taggin works, I could be right next to them, and they wont die. I could be really far away from them, they would die. It's probably just lag, but what I don't understand is that the sniper and lancer and other guns don't lag as much. Meeling doesn't lag that much, heck, even the Hammer of Dawn is as laggy as the gernade tagging. Why is it 200% more laggy then anything else in this game?
I don't think gernade tagging is cheap, but online, when lag is present, it is extremely rigged. I hope there is a way that this can be fixed, because gernade tagging is awesome. It causes some of the coolest situations, like quad kills.

Exactly how I play, I only tag when I have to, I think I havel like 60 some nade tags to prove it.

This is one of the things I also hate and hope they fix or do something about. Very nice topic Pepper

The only good that comes out of it now is they lose 5 points since it counts as a suicide. Is so funny when after the first round someone is -5 points:) because they blew themselves up or got run over by the train.
I agree that a tag that results in everyone left dying should be called a draw and not a win for the tagger.

if u are good enough to shoty the tagger before u blow up, it counts as a kill for u!

it should still be a win for the tagger team because hes the only one that did anything, all the other guy did was jumped.

-5 points is no incentive at all to not tag. Tagging is so easy to do and so rewarding for the tagger and his/her team in almost every situation that it's ridiculous. Tagging needs some very serious reworking, as it is (and as so-often stated) it's a complete joke.

Sniper active reload is what I'd call a joke...
I agree that a tagged person should be able to take out anyone, friend or foe.
Honestly, I would be extremely surprised to see adjustments to weapon mechanics before Gears 2...
I just wish things like the mic gitch would be fixed already.

Jumping = tapping A TWICE, tagging = pressing B ONCE! :D Not that either take skill to press. Remember though, you don't have to aim a tag or predict where the enemy is going in order to tag him at all.
