Has anyone else had a problem with the game freezing? because mines frozen proably every 10 minutes online and on campaign. I dunno if its my disk, xbox, or something else...
i checked on saints row and it seemed fine, does anyone know if its common or not? :(

My game skips a little bit on the single player when a lot of things are happening at once. But to help you out it's probably your connection.

Not really, but sometimes when I go on the xbox live menu my game freezes.

Mine freezes all the time, especially on Saint's Row and GoW. I have one of the very first XBox 360's and I think they were defective, at least mine was. I've got to buy a new one now. Damnit!

There have been quite a few threads about this. No answer from M$ or Epic about it. I have had the problem since day 1 and it still has never hapened on any other game but gears. I did do something different today and it hasn't frozen yet. I took the disc out and shut down the system from the dashboard yesterday. Pure speculation but see what happens if you try that.
People have purchased brand new systems and still had it happen. Most of my friends have launch systems and none of them have the problem. Mine is second gen.

OK, thanks. That's good information to have... I was about to literally go buy a new system next week. Mine does it much worse on Saint's Row though, I can't play SR for more than about 5 minutes when it does it. I did have mine located in an entertainment center where it might have been getting a little hot, but I've never gotten the "red" circles everyone else talks about when that happens. I've since moved my unit out into the open where I know it's getting fresh air... and it still happens just as frequently.
I'll hang on a little longer, but it's frustrating when you are in the middle of a good match and it looks like you've left the game for no reason.

If you are suspecting a heat problem. Keep your 360 horizontal not vertical in the open like you said but also keep the power brick cool. The power brick is the main cause of overheating not the 360 itself. If possible dangle it so it isn't touching anything. And don't have it on carpet for sure.

The same thing happens to my 360 too:
-I usually try to run my 360 for 10 minutes to let it warm up, (you gotta warm up before working out other wise you won't get the results you want)
-Also, you could run your 360 for 10 minutes and reset your 360 either one of these helps prevent the freezing in my 360 case.
Also, it may not work for you but it works for me and when I do either one of these, I usually play for as long as I won't.
Check out this (Overheating Xbox or 360) board because they have very similiar issues to the freezing and why it happens, and lastly what people buy to help there 360 run a little more proficiently.

So, is it a known fact that overheating causese the freeze ups?
It happened to me when I had a marathon session of the game. It would freeze every hour or so. Then, I stopped playing for the night and i had no problems. ;o

In some cases, if the disc was in the 360 and somebody tipped it, the disc can get a large ring in the middle of the back of the disc. This has happened twice to some of my friends, the game just skips alot and freezes, usually about 10 -15 minutes into the game. This only happens when the 360 is tipped while the game is being played, at least from my experience.
And overheating would only really happen if you play your 360 for a long time. Of course, your 360 could of overheated once with the disc inside after a long session of playing, in which it might hurt the disc. I just feel the back of my 360 every now and then, to check the heat. And if you want to keep it cool, try keeping it in a cold part of your house, like a basement.

I raised the power block up from the ground and left the 360 for a while, but when i played on gears later it froze in the mddle of a match, then again on single player. I tried saints row and it froze again.
The 360 doesnt feel hot but the saints row disc has that ring in the middle you were saying about^
Is there anything else i should try?
