can someone explain to me why Marcus went to jail( i think it said it in the manual but i lost it)

Well, 4 years ago, the Locust broke through the defensesat Jacinto Plateau, near East Barricade Academy, where Adam Fenix, Marcus's father, lived. Marcus chose to abandon his post to try to save his father, but he was too late. Colonel Hoffman is a strict follower of protocol and persuaded the jury at the House of Sovereigns to overlook Marcus's superlative military record while Marcus was on trial, and he was sentenced to 40 years in JMSP. He narrowly avoided execution because Dom testified on Marcus's behalf.

No wraith has it right. E-day was 10 years before Marcus' father died. Marcus only served 4 of his 40 years.

thus 10 + 4 = 14

I think he means that while the Locust have been around for 14 years, Marcus only left his post to save his father 4 years ago.

That's my take.
