OK, so we know about the Imulsion, the humans 79 year battle over imulsion after a long period of piece (the Pedulum wars). During this war, the Locusts emerge effectively ending the war. Marcus' father was a leading scientist for the CoG - however I don't think we know what he was working on.

In a similar vein to the Watchmen storyline, could the Locusts have been constructed by the CoG to end the war? Why hasn't anyone on Sera ever seen a Locust before emergence day? We'd dug deep enough to find imulsion, why not the Locust?

Perhaps they're a creation of man, fashioned to be a common overwhelming enemy by a desperate but brilliant scientist. However, the creation - driven by it's genetic code to wage war against the humans - kills it's creator, and with it the knowledge of what was done and more importantly - how to stop them.

That would explain how many of the tunnels seem to come from Marcus old estate. It would explain why his father was (maybe) mapping the tunnels. It would explain why the Locust MUST win this war or die trying.

I really don't think the Locust revere or care about Imulsion; no drone mentions it during combat and they hate light. Why would they worship something that makes light? It can't give them life either, judging by how it killed the corpser. So I doubt it has religious meaning to them.

They're the creation of a dying man, driven to save a planet destroying itself.

Of course, he wouldn't have created the whole army; just the queen (think big ass grub like lady, dumping down eggs all day) and placed her someone deep deep down (hence the mapping).

I've thought about that too, but the idea of someone making the Locust just seems wrong to me... Someone could have awakened them, though.

Yeah, and how then the CoG magically begins saving the world?

What if it was a try to make CoG above all, but wen't all wrong?

A few big monsters plunge out of the ground and CoG saves the day? But there were more monsters than there should've been?

I thought the same thing becuase i would think a race as advanced as the locust would have their own weapons. (WHich they don't) They only use CoG weapons. I dont know if this was a balance issue like halo 2 or if they dont actually have their own weapons?

Actually, the Locust came up with three weapons...

-The HammerBurst
-Boomshot
-Torque Bow

And they are advance, but not as advance as the CoG.

How do so many spawn with the Lancer? idk, it just doesn't seem right to me.

but yet they still know how to use CoG weapons and they do know how to chainsaw people in half……

hmm, i always thought of it as the three weapons you mentioned being superior to the COG weapons...i mean, the torque bow is pretty innovative...but then again, COG DO have the hammer of dawn...i guess you could say that they are both pretty advanced

not to be rude, but its not too difficult to pull a trigger, i just hope to god that its not a "mad scientist" storyline, those are all lame. i prefer the awakened thingy...........

I wouldnt say they were all created by Dr. Fenix...
I think that even for some sort of Genetic Programming, the way the war has panned out so far seems like something much more, desparate.

ya, i've thought about that one too. my theory was that Dr. Fenix was attempting some genetic experiments and things went wrong. That might be the reason why the locust won't stop the war, you know, they want to destroy the race that made them this way.

i don't know, just one of the things that i had thought about.

Considering the genetic relationship of the Brumack, as well as the other species that have obviously been domesticated by the locust, i would say the probability of Fenix Senior creating the Locust, domesticating the Kryll (somewhat), Corpser, Brumack, Nemacyst, and Seeders, and developing the Hammerburst, Torque Bow, and Troika, in addition to honeycombing the ENTIRE surface of Sera. I mean, he might have ;) , but not likely to happen in any one mans lifetime.

Hmmm, good point. Maybe it's as simple as Marcus' father attempting to find how to destroy or stop the Locusts.

Maybe the Locusts just had one too many toilets flushed on their heads and decided eNOUGH WAS ENOUGH.

Well, I think it's safe to say that Locust arent Dr. Fenix created :)

yeah, just slightly genetically mutated by him.………hmm, thats a thought

the fascist philosophy is that war is necessary to be a strong nation. At least that is what I believe the philosophy is for fascism. If you dont have an enemy, create one. Remember when the guy (the people who remain in the cities) calls Marcus a fascist pig

I'm going to go with Madfish on the toilet theory. if that happened to me, i'de be pretty pissed myself.
