What happened to the beloved Brumaks? I am reading everywhere that they aren't in the final game. WHAT HAPPENED?!?! I was so looking forward to versing one, this is a real bummer.

Sad part is not fighting them but they are in the game. Making a short cameo

Well according to Epic, the only reason they didn't put it in was because they didn't have enough time to add it in. So I'd say theres a pretty good chance it'll be a boss in the 2nd one.

Well according to Epic, the only reason they didn't put it in was because they didn't have enough time to add it in. So I'd say theres a pretty good chance it'll be a boss in the 2nd one.
But in a 2005 Game Informer, there was a whole bunch of pictures of Marcus shooting at one, from the shoulder view. D:

This could possibly be a spoiler for the people who haven't beat the game so dont look down if you havent:

He's in the game technically, but only a cutscene. He chases after you at the end of chapter 4 when you rush to the APC but there's no actual boss fight for him.

The Brumak isn't ONLY in the cutscene.. when you are supposed to rush to the APC it is IN the actual game, you can see it lumbering towards the mansion AND you can even fire a few shots at it! (Not that it does anything). But for the most part it is just prop. Oh well.. guess we'll actually "fight" it in GoW 2...

Besides, you never know, alongside new multiplayer levels and such for GoW, Epic might release new Single-Player scenarios :eek:

I hope they add a scenario with the brumak. Finding that he wasn't actually in the game play was a real downer.

I wasnt too badly hit by it, because I just enjoyed the game. Though I would enjoy extra scenarios.

So, let's see, what's the best way to take him down? I'm thinking of a cat and mouse chase with a vehicle, ending with getting cornered and lobbing a grenade down its throat, the force ripping its head off... Or would that be too close to Duke 3D's moon boss? :p

yeah but did you saw that game trailers interview with cliffy b? he said that the entire team was worn out and such so i think that would like to get some monny.

~but on second thought they can have the brumak senario free and a strategy guide to buy just like the 5 ones they have on there

We could see a sequal to this game in fast order. The graphics engine is near perfect already (work on texture popping), so most of the work could siply go into new levels, weapons, boss fights, etc...

Part of me wonders if the brumak was planned to be a boss but they pulled it and had you fight the berserker twice instead of once. Just a thought I had, especially since there is only ann acheivement for beating the berserker one time. What do you all think, possible?

well i figured it was supposed to be a boss and they just get it in. I guess what i was wondering more was if they added the second berserker instead of the brumak. (I know there is the berserker on the train, but you fight that one in a different way than you do the other two)

yeah thats true, but you can believe this:
They will put the brumak in the next game for the following obvious reasons:

1.) interesting appearance in GoW 1,
2.) also used in the comertial ad video
3.) speant a little to long for making it to not include it
4.) there was a video trailer that showed a breif appearnce in broad daylight near a stone pilar in a city

5.) very good boss to make in the second one (hopefully they will make it tougher than the corpser by just shoot it at it's bealt and than its mouth)

i think that is good enough reasons while they will keep it

Yeah they did spend alot of time to not really use it. But I don't believe the Brumak was in the Mad World commercial, the corpser was but not the Brumak. But I agree it will likely make a more significant appearance in the next gears.

if u dont fight a brumack in the next 2 games, GOW is a bad game; why would they show you a giant locust monster, worse than the corpser, and you dont fight it; i find this similar with the fact that you cant fly pelicans in halo, i mean, whats up with that?

You can fly pelicans in halo 2………By glitching of course but you still can fly them. The appearance of the Brumak is to get you amazed and wait for GoW 2. though the battle would suck, you saw how slow the misslies moved and how in accuret?

I was hoping to fight it also even though I'd know I'd just getting annoyed at it shooting missiles at me and constantly killing me. But I wanted to fight it anyway (just cuz) and to find that you don't is, yeah, disappointing.

But I hope you get to fight it in the next game (and that it's harder than the Corpser lol).

I thought the Brumak was removed because we had all seen it way before release and they wanted to give more room for the surprises (like the Berserkers). I'm dead sure I read an interview where this was stated.

It's appearance in the final game was a cameo just to make sure people won't ask "what happened to that Brumak monster?". Guess it didn't work fully.

When I got to APC and I saw the Brumak i was like are you kidding me I have to fight this thing, but then when we ran away i was a little dissapointed becuase I dont know, for some reason I like to fight gigantic monsters and killing them, it gives you a sense of power knowing you just destroyed a giant.

when i saw that i had to get to the APC, i thought that i would have to fight it from the apc, with whatever weapons it had while it was chasing us, which woulda been cool.... but sadly, not so:(

True but isnt the only weapon on the APC that UV cannon? (the one you fight the kryll with?) I dont know what it would do to a Brumak, give it a sunburn maybe lol

a really bad sunburn tho :cool: lol with blisters and everything. But the junker was the one with the UV cannon, i think an APC would have more wouldnt it?
