Why Did Baird Hack The Geobot?

I just beat the game, and I think feel that I have a pretty good grasp on the story, but I am a little confused about one thing. Why did Baird hack the geobot, where did he get the geobot, and what is a geobot? Was it just a coincedence that Baird felt like hacking the Geobot. Also, how come the Geobot led them to Marcus Fenix's Dads lab. I understand that he was a scientist that did research on the tunnels, but I dont see the connection between the Geobot and his dad. Could someone please clear this up for me?

his dad used the geobots tomap the tunnels and they all led back to his estate were he had all the data. baird found it in the tunnel, and if you found something from your side on enemy territory wouldnt you want to find out whyit was there.

Yeah, plus the geobot was originally in act 1. when kim asked carmine if it was the resonator and he said no, only to toss it into the emergence hole. they made a big deal about it. it was right before the first mounted turret when you saw alphas dead bodies.

One thing doesn't make sense here. When the junker breaks down, Baird says it needs a new geobot. Why would the junker need a geobot? this could also explain why Baird was looking for one, but it still doesn't make sense. And why would a tiny thing like a geobot, be able to collect more tunnel data than something as complex as the resonator, especially if it's just a car part!? And why didn't the military know about marcus' fathers research? Didn't he work for the military!?!? WTF!:eek:

Yeah, there's been brainstorming on geobots, how they've mapped the whole Sera's core and shiz... I myself think geobots were originally made to inspect caves and underground areas and harvest information on Imulsion and where to find it, while creating a map network as a side-job... Who knows...

Geobots currently exist in real if i remember correctly. Philips has one in development. However, A geobot is a Bot type thats kind of Knows everything about everything. A data Storage device. A Geobot can also be used to store data that propels a certain device. Hench the APC needing a Geobot.

Also if you actually pay attention in the game when not fighting, you will see Geobots everywere on the ground. In boxes. on boxes. on lifts.
