Do you guys think this game has what it takes to be picked up by MLG?
I don't think it will steal a bunch of fans from their premere shooter but instead will bring more people to competitive gaming. I want them to pick it up.

I hope they do to. The game actually has a lot of similarities despite some of the core differences in gameplay.

Theres a chance, a lot of games are in MLG. Even Super Smash for Gamecube.

Definately not like gamebattles. They host torunaments (giant lans) and offer thousands of dollars to the winners. It is like any pro sport, their are the best players and the best teams.
It would be great for MLG to pick it up.

LoL, a lot of games? Dude, there's H2 and SSBM. And you say "even" as if Smash isn't a worthy title? It's a very technical game that requires split-second decision making and extremely fast refelxes.

Hades2000 that's good to know cause I just posted in mlg as m23. My first post over there was trying to help you out with those guys. Man I can't believe I've been a member as long as I have and never even posted anything until now. I was so disapointed with halo 2 I sort of gave up.

Why must you always try to spark an argument with someone because of something they said, that was "wrong" in your eyes? *Sigh*
Anyways, on-topic, god yes I hope MLG picks it up. Then I'll have a reason to go to tournaments. H2 is boring, and there's already a bajillion teams that are good who started playing MLG forever ago. I started playing MLG last year. GoW will give everyone a fresh start, skill-wise. Much like Halo 3 will do with all the new players.

Excuse me? Are you not the one who, just yesterday, contacted me, criticizing my team and its affiliation? I think you need to check yourself a bit and realize that I haven't attacked you, and in fact, thought we were on good standings, even after yesterday.

Nope. I support GoW for MLG but it wont happen for the 07 season. Why? they would have to buy more TVs, dozens of 360's, pay out more for bigger venues, hire more staff, and they wont take such a big gamble on a new game. If gears is still popular and has a large competitive community even after Halo 3 is out then we might see it in 2008.
I've been playin in MLG's since July 2004 and I have only seen them take games off the line up. When I 1st got into MLG they had 5 titles... Halo 1, Grand Turismo, Soul Caliber 2, Smash Bros, and Tekken 5... now they are down to 2. They've learned their lesson and if the game doesnt prove itself online then it will never make it into MLG.
oh yeah... Game Battles is now owned by MLG... so it wouldnt hurt if you have a active game battle community

Those are all practically non-issues, especially the point about purchasing the 360s - I have a quote from Calc himself, and you could easily validate his views on the topic by IMing him.
If it's strong for competitive play, as I definitely believe it will be, I say..expect it for 2007.

If MLG doesn't play GoW, then th MLG is nothing but a bunch of unshowered, pimply, moley, fat, virgin-filled, retarded zoo beasts.
Not that adding a new game would change the calibur of people, but I thought I'd just try to stress that GoW is going to be TOPS.

They haven't.
If the game is worthy of being MLG it will be there. They pick the best games to be there and it's one thing I like about MLG the fact they don't just include every other game that comes out irregardless of skill involved.
People are moaning on their site for Vegas, GoW and SC DA to be included before they are even released (SC was before its release) it just looks pathetic they don't want to turn their lan events into something like gamebattles or team compete where they support games they haven't even played. Just look at gamebattles every game that has over 10 people playing it is there it's a complete joke.
Just because they only have 2 games isn't an argument for them to include GoW. Just wait and see; if it's good it'll be there they've had fine judgement so far.
