Has there been any news on achievements?

If there has i havent herd...

Someone said it will be like 10 chainsaw kills online and bla bla bla...

I think, personally, EPIC will make the achievements really hard to get, like 10,000 kills in ranked games etc...

Instead of you being able to pick up, play and then within a week have every achievement,.,,

I'm not sure where but I remember reading somthing about 100,000 kills in multiplayer and I would expect things like a certain amount of headshots with a sniper and I know for a fact there is one for the torque bow called "the Nuge"

I think there's some kinda active reload achievement too.

Yes you can see that one in one of the videos.

"The nuge" Torque bow
"Is it a spider?" a la Red vs Blue where you stick an opponent with a grenade

These were mentioned in EGM but beyond that i think it's all speculations

Nothing official? CliffyB talking about the Bow achievement and who it's named after at X06 isn't official enough?

Yea i would rather the game take months and months of non stop play inorder to get the achievments then play it in a week and do it...

Also, you see how on COD2, you can walk through the whole campaign on Easy, In gears of war will it be like, you can do it easy peasy on the lowest setting, but then the hardest setting take hours to do certain bits of the level?

man, there was a great internal debate as to how long we should reasonably expect players to play in order to unlock certain achievements, wish you could have been there. i was pushing for an achievement that would take a good 6 months before someone finally unlocked it...

Can you comment on the apparent 100,000 kills achievement as I find that a little hard to believe after your last statement. Is that true or is it 10,000 which I would find more believeable.

Seems the info has already been released already you may as well tell us if it's at least right or not. :D

100,000 kills is going to take forever in this game. from what I can see in the videos and stuff, it takes longer to kill people because they regenerate health and take cover. I got like 10,000 kills in RS3 and it took me like 8 months!

Six months nowadays is a long time to play one game, considering all of the other games that are also great that will be released at the same time. I'm also getting COD3 and RS Vegas, all within a week's time, so I hope that the achievements aren't too hard to unlock!!

COD2 is a terrible example. There shouldn't be achievements for REPLAYING the game. I hate difficulty setting achievements and I had multiple times unlockables. Tomb Raider infuriates me everytime I look at it because you have to play it THREE times to get everything.

I agree, there should be achievment points for playing through the game in solo or co-op on one of the harder settings then the rest for online play, that will make the gamer play the game more than having to replay the one player mode.

Looks like you aren't going to love some of the GoW achievements, heh. Three difficulty levels to play through to get all SP achievements and you'll have to play through twice in online Co-op it looks like because those achievements are only for the player who plays Dominic Santiago. This of course doesn't include how many times you'll have to replay it to get all the COG tags...

Other than that, though, the multiplayer acheivements seem pretty awesome (and most are at least reasonable... gonna take me a little while to work on #49).

Hmm, im just glad that theres an achievement that will take a long time..
I know that getting 100 head shots with sniper, chainsaws etc will that along time, but if you say you play for around 2 hours a day, and manage to get afew of each every day, then playing it for a while it wont take you to long at all...

I dont see why people like to be able to get the achievments easily, for me, they dont really matter, and are just something to do when im bored...

I like games to be a challenge, and the more challenging they seem, the more fun i have...
This meaning i like the game to "last" and have more to do then just multiplayer...
For exapmple, if XBL goes down again, i want something to do which will take me the time its down and longer to do it, so i wont be so fckin bored not playing online...
