Why UT is and was better then quake. In quake u can just run and jump in UT u can dodge,crouch and jump off walls.:)
Crawling would be a way of dodgeing mantas. Exept if a manta is on a vertical dive coming direcly at u(SLICED PANKAKE!!!)!!:D
To stand up from crawling it should take at least 2 seconds.

Encourages sniping and nonintense behavior,which is not UT style imo.
However I do agree with you UT2k4 does have the best movements of any FPS and it is better than Quake.

No not in 2k4.If u saw a player lying down,its because they were dead.:p
Its returning in 2k7.I normally used when I was afk for a few minutes.Sometimes when I returned I was dead,sometimes,alive,and sometimes a player(2 feet away) was waiting for me to move so he could frag me.
Somewhere around here theres a dead feign death thread.

Definately not. Adding crawling would make UT break further away from its roots. In a bad way.
Besides, this is UT2007, not some war game.

Press the "toggle-sit" key and Gorge takes out a camping chair (from the same place he gets the weapons from), unfolds it and sits down next to the Raptor Spawn to camp it. The big newspaper he reads during that will make it hard for snipers to aim at his head while he is sitting.

I don’t mind. It would be really funny to see a player crawl around like its some WW2 game or some thing. I would never use it and the people who did id laugh and kill them so yea add it, it would make my day. :D

IMO crawling should be left out. This is UT not CS or BF2 and this game is supposed to be fairly minimal when it comes to the key smashing. If for instance, in DM you have half the server playing commando it will get very annoying very quickly.

1) They Said they're trying to make It different.
2) UT has always been about fast paced fragging, your right.. and in the previews so far its shown that. But the game types will be different and Snipers could do with a crawl type button.
3)I agree with you but these are just points showing that it could happen.

IMO crawling should be left out. This is UT not CS or BF2 and this game is supposed to be fairly minimal when it comes to the key smashing. If for instance, in DM you have half the server playing commando it will get very annoying very quickly.Wow that’s over the top. Does half the server crouch around? Actually, rolling sounds like a good idea. They had it in Timesplitters:Future Perfect(yet only bots can do it), so why not? What would be even more cooler is if you can dodge-roll or jump-roll.Im going to be a realist here. How can one role with all that gear on? Not to mention a gun to. I also think a role would look silly in UT2007 but that’s just my opinion.

I would like to have the SIT feature.Why? What good can it do to the game. What does a sit command bring to the table? Absolutely nothing at all even the couch is pointless at times. Now if your energy increased slowly as you sit that’s a different story but campers will love that. ;)

To stand up from crawling it should take at least 2 seconds. Anything that takes 2 seconds to recover from would be useless. It takes less time for a Manta to stop and move back, crushing you as you get up.
...to quote some mapping tutorial (the original context was the time a lift waits before coming down again) "2 seconds is a long time in Unreal Tournament".

I was exaggerating :p. If UT had weapons that were more along the lines of a tactical shooter I would say a crawling/prone scenario would be totally justified, it does not though. Crouching to half your original height and crawling completely flat on one's belly are two entirely different things and I would be concerned it would be one more way for someone to lame it up for the rest of us on the pubs. In a sniper capacity on say CTF-Face it could have merit; otherwise it's one more bind and one more thing for people to exploit, I suppose thats unavoidable anyway though.

I doubt crawling is the reason the players are playing those games, Id have to say with the news the way it is ofcoarse people are gonna have alot of exposure to that type of thing so its kinda like free marketing for those companies. I know rainbox six and its sequels never really took off, those had alot more to them than most on the market atm. Eye in the sight is pretty popular, never really liked it myself and every time I play I got some one saying press this for eye in sight all the time. Then I make what they call a hip shot to the head and thier like wtf how did you do that so easy, my answer its called fps, not tfps lmao

1.The camera would get f*cked up so it would be useless.
2.If the camera didn't change then you would still be an easy target.
3.Dodge roll? Jump roll? ROFL (pun intended).
The only time rolling would be okay would be if there was an assault map where you have to jump out of a dropship and parachute down, rolling when you get to the floor, and even then rolling wouldn't be necessary.
But warfare looks too much onslaught to do anything like that, have to rely on some mapper.

I find if you want something like rolling you'd actually have to have to disatvantages of it like the screen roll or camera shake of some sort. Thats why the dodge moves go crazy its because its all in the tp view.
Not saying it has to realistic as people dont seem to want that. Easy kills, recoil, variable aiming depending on moving etc is all well and good but thats the minor stuff when your actually on the battlefield. I got one friend who a so called expert heli-sniper lmao but you see if a scout could track a sniper over large distances and actually work it like real then the sniper could be at a sevre disadvantage if they arnt trained.
Those games dont lack action but I find it all revolves around the same areas and becomes repeatative very fast. I prefer my rpg's in that flavour ;)

Depending on the environment played in, the "Flank cannon" will hardly ever be succesfull at a one shot kill. As for the redeemer, yes that kills in one shot. I wouldnt rely on the redeemer in a tight deathmatch though (thats if its even turned on serverside)
If UT2007 was more like the "Top 3" Fps games, I assure you guys that I for one would not buy it.

Absurd.This would just smack all of the loyal followers right in the face.UT has already began to evolve in to nothing but vehicular warfare with the addition of ONS and VCTF.That in itself is already enough like every other game out there.
For a game to stand out and shine it should be unique(slight risk yeah)and not go with the flow.UT has already jumped on the vehicular bandwagon and now introducing Unreal Warfare which should just be called Unreal "Battlefield" imo because I'll bet the similarities will be striking.
If all games have the same movements,similar weapons,and all have vehicles why the hell would you play UT7?You could just go pick up any shooter and get near the same action if they were all the same except for the box art.
This is exactly what is helping to kill the game for many.This may attract some new players,but they would be losing almost as many players that have been with UT since day 1 if the game drifts too far from its roots.
I am not against the game evolving,but they really should not follow the pack and definitley should not lose the original things the die hards loved about the game in the first place.
Its a tough a balancing act,but it can be done.

Yeah I kinda get sick of using the same real life weapons again and again and again. Atleast the ut and quake series have original weapons which keep evolving, the also introduce something new everytime in terms of weapons.
I think theres just a fad of wanting reallife stuff in games, if its sim or not I dont think it really matters. Makes you wonder why people dont just sign up and do it in reallife hey :p
I know for a fact liandri dont host tournaments and I couldnt be gorge even if I wanted to be lmao
I think part of it is familiarity, if it looks like reallife and feels as close as they can get it then it doesnt leave much in terms of learning. You've shot one m15 or styer aug youve shot them all hehe, I wish people would be more imaginative especially since sci-fi and fantasy movies can be popular. Mind you there is a big push towards fanatsy these days with the new star wars, lord of the rings, the lion the witch and the wardrobe and harry potter.
I still blame the news for there free marketing on cs and bf2 lmao :D

I would just spray at the ground until the enemy dies.
The idea is that you only use a given option when it grants you an advantage. In simpler terms, you'd crawl behind cover, not in front of an enemy.

Crouch then walk...
"Crawling", AKA "going prone" or "lying down" is done to take maximum advantage of cover. In most games that allow you to do that it also steadies your aim. A somewhat redundant feature in a game where accuracy does not depend on movement, and a very redundant feature in a game where mappers do not understand what "cover" is.

I for one, would like to see Epic implement a vehicle modifying button into the game. If I have some spare time during an onslaught match, I could get out of the vehicle and start customizing it. The added lightning streak down the side of my hellbender would add speed to it, like on my real car.

Obviously you have never played Battlefield, because if you would have, you would know that this is complete BS. ONS and Battlefield are as similar as UT99 and CS. And i really doubt that Warfare will be anymore similar to Betafield than ONS is, on the contrary the introduced changes will make it more different.
I do agree though, that being different from battlefield is good :>

That's because the thread starter thinks that you can kill people quite easy with a Manta. These kinda things happen when playing offline-bots or demoservers. :p ;)

But in Quake you can rocket jump, plasma jump, nade jump, strafe jump, wall-hug (in Q1).. and if playing Q4, crouch-sliding and ramp-jump is also possible :p
