View Full Version : Projectiles, jumppads and telethingos!

Well there is a thread similar to this one but it would be cool if all projectiles got teleported and could telegibberfrag players. Another thing is that projectiles should all be affected by physics equally, I find in low grav 2k4 some are some arnt. Lastly I love shooting stuff on jumppads and watching it kill someone :D

Did I mention this one time at 2k4 camp I fragged a sniper on morpheus, who was on the tip of the highest tower, with a......

Assualt rifle nade :eek:

On Ut04 on I think its morpheus (level with low gravity) I shot a Lock on missile at One of my clan members for a joke n he tryed dodging it by going through the teleport but it followed him through and killed him.

Memories! :D ... I cant wait for memories of UT07!

Lol, well they dont normally Teleport... just probably a glitch or a 1 off lucky shot.

I'd like it if projectiles (maybe not energy weapons, just bullets/missiles) and corpses could go through teleportals. I think it would be funny to telefrag someone with a corpse! :)
Also, to see a corpse get hurled out of a teleportal.

I think it would also be cool and funny for corpses to activate jump pads and elevators.

What can I say, I like watching the ragdoll physics... :)

Lol that would be funny... like a head has been blown off someone... then it rolls onto A jump pad and get projected upwards.

The problem with this is that it would mean the server has to replicate extra information to synchronise ragdoll corpses over the net. As it stands now, ragdolls are calculated client-side, so each player may not see the same ragdoll death. This would of course not be acceptable if corpses could have an active role in game events.

Projectiles should use the same physics system everything else uses; vehicles players, rocks, everything.

In Q4 I like how u can bouce nades off the pads.
I'd like to see this in 2k7.More realistic afterall anyway.
A corspe should bounce a couple times too if you get an air shot
(if he doesnt gib)and falls on a jumpad.

I do not like the idea of projectiles going through warps though like in Q4.Seems like that may encourage spam and portals camping.

The option should be there to choose what can go through which portals and what can bounce of a jump pad
If spam was an issue on some maps, the portals/jumppads could have projectiles switched off.

Seeing ragdolls get flung through portals and off jumpads would be ****ing comical :)

What about this one, if you shoot a protectile at someone and it hits them while in translocation it could telefrag them. I dont think this would be a major spam factor because trans moves around all the time and timing of the shot would come down to a fraction of a second :D

Remove some checks from current teleporters and they'll let projectiles thru

Just brainstorming... but a concept i'dd like to see are "dodge boosters". Pads in the floor that lenghten the radius of a dodge move.
They do not function as jumppads, they just increase dodge radius and speed to a set variable, this could be interesting for clearing gaps and jumping trough holes, etc...

That is a cool concept, alittle like a jumppad mixed with a dodge ramp by the sounds ;)

I thought of run pads which give you a temporary speed boost like racing games but I dont know how well that would work. Itd clear some of the problems adrenaline causes though.
