Ive an idea , what do you think?

Ut2007 having face profiles page/addon so you can see the person your playing and also hobbies and interests within the profile. Isnt it great that the ut community know what the other looks like and what he/she is all about.

Is it possible? Only the future knows or the powers that be...

You really don’t wanna see half of the people in this community, trust me. Fat lazy layabouts with bogeys hanging out of there noses as they play this game like it’s a matter of life or death. :)

Not a pleasant sight I can tell you. :D

It would be cool, but I'll online use it off-line. It's sure fire that there'll come idiots who start flaming everyone all over just because what they look like.

Forget the spyware that is Xfire.
They could simply integrate Microsoft's "Live!Anywhere"-features ...
It's one of the few things that should be part of the OS to begin with as the Xbox already has proven how useful such a system is when it is not depending on whether the game has forced the user to install and register yet another messenger-system.

I'll pass.Its a good idea,just not for UT.
Well, unless only hot chics ONLY were permitted.
If this were the case,I'd say I want the game profile cards(pop up when people talk) to display the actual person, instead of their character.
I could pretty much guarantee we'd all die more.:D

I personally do not want my pic out there.I am not repulsive, but with photoshop, there would be pics on forums (from salty players) of me doing who knows what that aren't true.

I could just imagine it. Pervs posting naked pictures, kiddies posting up their addresses so they can be stalked, horn dogs using it as a way to date a UT chick, Epic going bankrupt from all the lawsuits.... HOW ABOUT A BIG... NO!!!!

This is a game in which people get fairly wound up:eek: trying to kill each other not to mention isn't the taunting enough . Anyone thinking there would be no racism ,sexism or other abuse with photo profiles is deluded

There are already to many children in game spouting racist, sexist or other offensive insults at anonymous players. I think they will see it as an opportunity to single out different knds of people. But otherwise I think it could be good for the rest of us.

The only way this would work, is if you built your own characters like you do in a RPG, and you could pick pictures and descriptions from a stock selection. However since you don't build your own character, nor is UT an RPG, this could never work.

They could allow you write you own character's profile during character creation for the SP ladder since they're extremely customisable now. Just like how the bots have profiles.

could imagine, it would be kinda funny to add some user profiles to the game...
i mean... one shouldnt do the mistake and try to cross a high speed action game like ut with dating chat elements, but a few basic profile informations might be interesting indeed...

for example:

location, country, city (good for clan recruitment, as many clans like to find people who live close to them)

age (just interesting in general, although i could imagine many people would not tell the truth here)

clan, clannick (if this information would be shown in a profile, there would be no more need to use clantags)

hours played, rank, points? (depending on what global stats system ut2k7 will have, this might be a good information for a profile)

about adding a picture to a profile, i guess there would not be much wrong with it... in counterstrike people walk around and spray their pictures on the wall all the time, what sometimes can look quite stupid, but even that doesnt disturb the game too much...

oh - and about the possible abuse of such a functions by certain misled people: if you are too afraid of racist, sexual or other foolish public messages, ut should not even have a "say" function, as also there people can flame enough...
i guess it is just no use to forego nice ideas just because SOME people might abuse it.
if abuse happens, the admin has something to do, just normal, isnt it?

also my experience with counterstrike and its ingame spray images showed me that abuse doesnt happen too much - and i would expect that the counterstrikes community is much more fuc*ed up than the ut comm ;)

I'd say yes, if the image could be almost whatev the player wants, such a forum avatar thing. You can post a sexy icon, your little face, etc. etc, but you can't post porn, etc. Otherwise I like the idea.

Well of course as pointed out how can you supervise the pics and infos? Someone can post the porn or the little kids can accidentally insert their adresses.

I'm okay with the idea, but remember the hazards of it. :p

EDIT:

Whoa, they got the INA forum profiles integrated properly? :O

I voted no, but I would like to see a separate "clan" attribute in the profile because:

It avoids having to use a clan tag.
You would be able to add an option to put players with the same clan tag on the same team.
You could put the clan name above the team roster on the scoreboard - great for post-match screenshots.

I hope that they make a system in UT2007 where you can create your own personal character, so that people can actually recognize you online just by looks.
I mean sort of system they use in games like FIFA where you can create your own player.
For UT2007 setting things like race, height, weight, muscle, skincolor, hairstyle, tattoos, facial hair, clothing and maybe other things should be great right??

If they would make that there would be thousands of different possiblilities without having to load thousands of different skins because they are all included in the game.
And you would not be verry likely to ever bump into someone with exactely the same character.

Well, I would have liked some profile where I can enter some info, say the same things, we can post in our profiles on this forum - ICQ UIN, Skype name, xFire handle, may be e-mail.
