I think it would be a cool idea to have a "roll" feature added by simply holding crouch down and dodging like you would normally dodge. What do you all think?

Bad idea and people wont use it....lots of guns in UT have splash damage...so u want to stay off the ground in action ...like double jumping and dodging like crazy.

Anyone what ever played Jedi Outcast would know how valuable rolling can be. Plus, it was undeniably cool. But seriously, the rolls in JO were low and fast. Of course, it's most useful in melee battle to avoid an Acme Bigass Mallet about to crash down on my head:) Still, though, it would be cool to have.

What advantages rolling would give you instead of dodging?

I hope Epic never gets their hands on any alcohol and then reads these forums because the damn sure way to screw up UT would be to come here for ideas while intoxicated.
I'm not sure... it sounds cool, but with the dodging already in, wouldn't rolling be a little obsolete?

How would rolling work? You would either not see yourself rolling, or the camera would get really messed up (like the monkey matrix moves).
Rolling would be a pointless feature, just like crouch jumping and paying $25 a year for stuff you can get from IRC for free.

this idea is almost as bad as shield or dodge-jump.
Rolling would be cool but pretty pointless in a game that does not implement the mystical concept of "cover".
You mean... ....like this thread???Actually... yeah... just like this thread...

this is neither FIFA nor splinter cell; we don't need balls (you know which one i mean ;)), we don't need people rolling around.
hmm but... that would give "rofl" a whole new meaning!
