I just got back from a long UT break, and I'm not sure if this is already in the game or if it has been previously discussed, but I was wondering if being able to 'hijack' a vehicle, by kicking osmeone off it, or pulling them out, would be a good idea fore future UT games. Somewhat like halo 2 i guess. :)

Don't think so and i won't want UT turning into halo either...u can probally steal vehicles from the other team like in ut2k4 though...

In halo it only works because the player is visible from outside the vehicle, in UT 2k7 the player is usually completely concealled. This would make hijacking look rather odd if you had to open a hatch or door to get the player out...would seem to long and stupid. Imagine jacking darkwalker..

guess u guys r right, just a thought.

it would only really work with some vehicles, but to me it just seem to fit the ut style. guess not. :(

If I was you, I would change your signature, "A Cold Shower".

On topic, I think vehicle hijack could be somewhat... weird. Its not really UT to me, although, if you think about it, would give a chance to fight back against vehicles when they come close (at which time some of them are the most deadly (and unfair))

Why's that?

Someone's been playing too much GTA.. ;)

If I'm going so slowly that someone could run up to me & yoink me out of my Bender, then I deserve to lose it.
Quick question though - what would happen to the turret gunners? :p

Well in halo sometimes the gunners get stuck with a driver from the opposing team.

I personally like the slower vehicle side of Halo 2 (boarding, destructible areas on the vehicles, seats you enter not through number keys but by GETTING INTO THAT SEAT) but I don't think it'd work in UT. Wouldn't feel right.

I think they should not have it. It is to fast paced of a game to deal with that too. imo.

The quotes point out to the rules of the forum, a sig shouldn't be more than 4 lines long else you make your post take too much space. Yours obviously take at least twice the space. Im not an admin and im not going to punish you :D But I prefer to ensure thing are followed like they have been wrote, otherwise admin could do it themself. And sometimes in some forums, admin are pretty hard when it comes to rules, so who knows. Although the admin around are pretty nice, one could have a bad day or something

Hijacking sounds like a good idea but I don't think it would work well with the fast paced action. Plus they have to make all these animations that will give it a next-gen feel, but slow down the gameplay. Besides, wouldn't be weird to hijack the opposite race (Axon, Necris)? then it would screw up the balance of the game.
Only small sized opened vehicle would be vulnerable, those dark walkers really can't get hijacked (hell I have no idea how you get in them) but say, the manta, you can, if you got the nice timing to jump and press USE at the right time, you would now be on his vehicle trying to get his opponent out.

Meh, I like MadNad's idea of hijacking in Excessive
Get near enemy vehicle, mash Use 4-6 times, break into enemy vehicle
