Now that the first shaky-cam-footage from the Games Convention presentation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4u_48u_jpA) has arrived at Youtube, wouldn't it be time to release the extended HD-trailer officially to the public? The 2-minutes trailer is nice, but 5 mins will be even better...

It's as if there's only one set of footage that Epic has of the same gameplay vid, they just chop it in different ways for effects. Kinda getting old.
Mounting/dismounting the hoverboard isn't impressive. It just kind of 'happens'.
It's cool, the SPMA now has some sort of side-struts that deploy to ground it.

Man, the detail of the lighting and shadowing of the unreal 3 engine is un-f***ing-real :) I mean, like the shadow of the hellbender just before he got in . . . it's mindblowing. I mean, that scene, with the ground, shadows and sun, looked just like a bleak winter day. Well, maybe not bleak. . .

I like the new voices (?), like "Damn, i lost a tank" etc. Sound cool. However, i hope that the Conquest maps won't be so short, i mean, you won't win after 5 minutes of play. :/

Looks amazing, love the new voices (did I hear swearing in there as well? ;)).
One thing that does worry me a hell of a lot is the shock rifle primary.
It looks as if it has a faster rate of fire than the UT2004 one. If anything the shock primary's ROF needs to be dropped by a lot (UT99 level for example), because unless the damage has been dropped by a lot, then the shock will be whored even more than it is in UT2004, which is to say to the point where UT2004 feels like shock rifle arena :(

Because of the position of the building and the sun, the shadow dissappeared cause the bright sun light cannot reach into the building or the other side of the building, get yourself a pair of glasses.

in one frame there is a big long sahdow og the player AND the hover board
in the next frame the shadows simply disapear

I can hardly see anything in that vid, I've watched it at the default 360x240 (or whatever it was, pretty small anyhow) and stretched to full-screen, and tbh it's all a messy blur really.
I can work out what vehicle is what, by pausing it & checking out the sillouette, but I can't make out any details.
It's cool that everyone's excited by these little video clips we've been getting, but I've not gotten a bean from them I'm afraid. :(

they are focusing more on warfare mode because that is why most ppl buy the game for, they should also concentrate more on CTF and DM, i wouldnt mind it commin out next summer if it every mode was really polished.

Who care about the size of anything?!? Big HDD are very cheap and my internet connection allow 20Gb of download per month and it's unlimited for some so you'd have to be freaking stupid to take the ugly version in order to save a little space...:rolleyes:

The bot chatter, assault aspects, and weapon sounds seem to be coming along quite well.
The leg animation on the Dark Walker could use some work though. They are so wobbly that they don't seem like they could support a heavy machine.

as a matter of fact why are SO MAN PEAOPLE pessimistic about the future developement of the UT series? people complaining left right and centre about things that are, tbh, trivial "oh i dont want egyptian stuffs!" well dont use the egyption stuff!
"new shock rifle too fast"..so? all the weapons fire modes seem to be increased!
darkwalker leg thing i can understand, but they arent realy meant for support, the legs are there to DRAG the "head" around, as it floats freely...

the voices and sfx do sound like they are comming along nicely! hard to tell from a shaky cam over the net if fx really go boom! but they sound way ahead of where they were with ut200x on audio at this point! :cool:
and yeah i noticed the Shockrifle speed too... have to watch again but it seemed WAY fast and thatd not be a good thing...

Remember when Epic hinted there'd be endless levels? Or terrain that would change when another side took control of it? A walking vehicle (rather than a floating vehicle that pulls itself along)? That all bit the dust when it turned out not to be so feasible after all.
I'm entirely confident that this list will grow with any or all of the following:
"In your face" gameplay. Mobility does not determine the range at which encounters are settled. Only map layout and the power of hitscan will. Neither removing dodgejump nor increasing movement speed will help, as every player will still be just as fast or slow as all the other players. Big open ONS map + shock/sniper != "in your face".
Immersion. Doublejump on thin air, instantly vanishing into vehicles, the complete and utter uselessness of the Crouch key
"Fixing" ONS. ONS was not the problem, the maps were. No amount of power orbs and conduits is going to save a new "the deemer helps the losing team break free" Severance.
Bridge the gap between the n00b and the l33t. The power and relative difficulty of the shock combo, hitscan dominance, timed powerups and a relatively weak starting weapon will see to that.
Decent single player experience. We'll probably just get another glorified Instant Action maplist.And is it really that hard to type "are you"?

the shadow of the guy disappears 100% completely totaly from a moment to another and this is wrong
and when i say moment its one moment before he gets off of th ehover board and the other moment when he is already on foot, thats why the sahdow disapears, consequently some kind of bug, it shouldn be like that

But there's still plenty of time for Epic to fix things like this. You can also see a shadow cast by the sun on the bot while the bot is within the shadow of the terrain, this is also wrong. But it is unfinished & only a video.

About the Shock combo, besides making the orbs easier to hit by making it larger, the ROF for the Shock Combo has to increase, or else the Shock has higher damage and orb travelling speed slower?
