Will these new UC2 forums benefit our community?

Well, now that they've made an effort to transfer the old UC2 forums over to this new Epic site, it should be interesting to see if everything picks up a bit more with the extra traffic. I'm not a huge fan of change myself, and it'll definitely take a while to get acclimated to the new environment, but maybe it's all for the best. Here's to new beginnings.

it think it ill be harder for the peeps from uc2 forums to come here then it will be for u because allt he peeps from uc2 gonna feel like new commers not knowing much peeple.

I am back and fourth on how I feel about this.On one hand one place to go is cool, but losing posts, and other stuff sux.

I hate the color scheme here. But the GoW forums and the UT2K4 forums both go to their original theme once you go into them. I hope they do that with UC2. I like the old forums much better.

I think this will benefit our community though. It's good to keep all the Epic fans close together. Maybe some Unreal ignorant GoW hopefulls will see UC2 here and pick up a copy to see Epics last console creation and a new UC2 fan is born.

And maybe the devs will respond to these forums more often.

how did snoogans get a merged account anyways??? even others, they have there postcount and joined date of other forums (cause these are rather new, right?)

They are legacy accounts that you cannot access.

Oh, you CAN login with the legacy accounts...my pass worked, but you just get an error you can't view these forums or something like that :p

i quite like it, its easy to access the other boards. thank you epic.

but i do like the other colour code more. im colour blind to these colours so it's pretty hard to look at.

The old forum has gone down hill and in the end it was mostly someone bragging about his imaginary skills, which wasn´t fun to read and respond at all.

The best time was before and shortly after the release. Ah well, its a new forum so lets hope the best. Where´s the "random gun is overpowered" thread?:D

well. its not been too long here and the Uc2 section seems dead already. maybe its because fevered and andree havnt found out the forums have moved yet :D

Yeah, it was great before and after release. For the most part atleast.

I remember when this game was first announced. It was like a year before release, and I didn't even have an XBox. A few months later, I did get an XBox, and this was gonna be the main game I was gonna get.

The day they started accepting preorders, I was at Gamestop, getting my hands on the 3 collector cards (not the demo though. Had to go the next day for it :/) Once I actually got the demo, my XBox disc drive never opened for a while.

The forums were bursting with activity when the demo released. Bugs being said, and everyone was actually friendly.

Then the game was released. Largest activity ever. Soon as I got home with the game I played straight through singleplayer, and again my disc drive never opened for a long time.

Then things went downhill. People found that there was characters in the game, and with a modified XBox you could access them. These were the DLC characters, and noone knew why EPIC didn't just release it with them unlocked, since they were already there. Everyone also kept getting pissed that the DLC took forever to release, complaining the game was terrible without it.

When the DLC finally came around, UC2 pretty much became extinct, which is a real shame. Everyone complained they didn't have the DLC, and when they got it, they complained it was terrible. The forum was never the same.

Truth be though, my room still sometimes echoes "COUP DE GRACE" from time to time.

Ah, well...the changeover is complete now apparently. The old link wasn't working anymore. Yeah, we need more choices for color/themes here...this grey/blue visual is rather...ugly.

some UC2 avatars would be nice as well..I'm currently torn between this awesome looking GoW creature...and the very Superman-esque portrait of Brock as a regular human. ...but it's probably not likely due to how pitifully small this segment of the community is. We don't really count :(

and yep, we actually need Fevered and Andre to come over. They brought the DRAMA that has kept some form of "life" going on in the game for the past few months. Really, what would there be worth talking about if it weren't for those guys and their silly antics?

Strange. The old forums still work on my lap-top, but are inaccessible on my other PC. Man, I'm not particulary enjoying this whole change at the moment. It just doesn't feel right. With anything though, time will help to get more comfortable.

It's good to see everybody starting to migrate to this new environment already, and hopefully other people become interested in UC2. What's up with my Post Count? It's cool they gave me a 3rd of my original posts back, but since the number is so skewed, I'd almost rather just start off fresh. Eh, I won't complain. After all, the terrible complaining from our community is what helped sealed the coffin for many.

No big deal I guess. Even still, they almost felt like little achievements which reminded you of your dedication to the forums - something we worked for. Kinda pointless... Yes. I just liked em though.

Guess it is complete then. Like stated before, colours are kind of strange. Wish they migrated to the other site, but hey as long as theres still somewhere to go, I'm happy. ;)

How did you become Senior Member? I'm just a regular member on this site as well. And for the color scheme and all- I really have no idea. I didn't even know they were closing the old forums. To be honest with you though they had a Gears of War Forum already made on the other site.. pretty nice looking too. Same with UT2007 now. All custom made with neat colours. Guess they liked this idea better though. So I'm with you Snoogans. No answers. Sorry.

I think it takes a little time for you to get a few posts form your old account.It seems they cut your posts in half, or something.I seem to have gotten my post count from the Atari Froums.It like the count I had on my old one I lost a few months ago from a lost password.Notice my join date:p

only 'contributing members' get an account transfer, so those with a lot of posts or open topics (mod/map support) of the transferred forums get their old account back (and merge I guess with the legacy). I whined a little bit, and got my legacy account merged. but only a part of the epicforums are transferred (old threads were already deleted if I remember well) and my post count of 900+ went to 200+ because I guess only 200+ legacy posts are viewable here.

a certain 'stacey' merged my accounts btw :)

I'm wondering if the modding community could make that possible at this point....because I have no hope for an *official* addition of UC2 to the BC list....no hope at all. I'm actually getting my Xbox fixed JUST because of that game. If MS hadn't screwed up the BC issue so much, it wouldn't have been a problem, and the death of my Xbox would just prompt me to upgrade sooner rather than later.

well, if someone could make an xbox emu, and then 'hack' the xbox360, install this emu, then it could be possible. but it's not likely that this will happen anytime soon, so you guys can only hope M$ finds an easier way to update their emulation of the xbox.

yeah, I'm getting the old one fixed. I forgot what drive it is...it's old anyway(I bought it used), so yeah it's probably one of the problematic drives.

Well, at least you're getting it fixed, that's the main thing. I've had my Xbox for almost 4 years now and that baby gets a bunch of Dirty Disc Errors. Somehow she still runs though.
