Hello all my UC2 and 2k4 buddies.

I left the "UC200-going-nowhere mod".

I want to release my long nearly finished work, and the lack of production form portions of the team prevented me from doing that.

Now that I have left, I can release all I want.

I already I have 4 man mapping team in action.

Myself being one.

Anyways.

I am shootiung for a month from now, for all of you to get a sweet pack, and best part will be.....drum rol.........

Mostly UC2 commuinty mapping it!!!! HAHAAH

Condiment, ME, Sony, and MR.j(must reamin anonymous for now).

Look for 4 CTF maps, 4 DM, and a few Skins, maybe even a custom weapon or two.....

They just wanna play around and pretened like there gonna do it.
We are going to do it, some of us may not have the game but we have members that can record videos of UC2's Maps,Gameplay and Characters for the design crew to use for reference.

I'm one of the UC2004 Character modelers by the way, I'm incharge of doing Malcolm, Raptor, and Szalor and maybe others if I get enough time. Feel free to stop by at the Brand New UC2004 forums&website:

Hmmm well Epic and Midway originally made them, you enlarged them, as for who made them look good that would be me...
I've taken over skinning Brock since you left, I've taken your textures which were Blown up UC2 Textures and have greatly improved upon them.

I forgot to state here after leaving the mod I entered a greement with the MAIN member of it Mons Olympuis to make my meshes for me for Praxis.

After that all affiliation with them and myself is done.


Than. you need to talk to Monsy about agreements we made, and I appreciate it if you did not do this in my threads,,,,start your own.

EDIT: DOH, I think I never put my UPDATED shader for Brock on the FTP for you guys Than.

I gots it for you guys still.

As you can see here in the pic the shader and mask i actually complete and covers all areas with the correct omunt of reflection.That way it a ppears to be leather/cloth.

well ive seen brock and anubis in action.... and anubis is just plain horrid.... the models good but the animations and textures are real bad *barfs*.

and brock is better but still needs better animations.

Yes those are my textures, your leather 'effects' are done by the shader mine are done using high detail textures, so the shader will only enhance my textures further.

Normal TV's run at 720x486 resolution so the textures used at this size in UC2 are tiny only being 256x256, it is due to the TV being run on such a low resolution with shaders applied to the textures that they look really high detail, UT2004 on the other hand uses either 1024x1024 or 512x512 textures and plays at a much larger resolution. Thats the reason why the converted texures look really low quality when applied to the UT2004 Models.

Thats why we have been improving the quality of the skins as shown above.

Ok so new version of Deadbolt it coming along nicely.

Im gonna post a vid soon, but Im working on the mian mesh for the level.

I basically got it made, I just need to add a little more detail and texture it.I started mapping the texture a little to see what tweaks I needed to make to the shape, but here's a little tasty of what Im workin on.

I got my mapping itself down, just getting all the slots to actually take in Unreal is the only hurdle, and Meshes will be streaming from Shred.

I got my buddy who does Auto-Cad alot to draw me a few scaled drawings of meshes from the game.

So these will be near perfect...HAHA.

I just gott get one little technical difficulty ovecame and it's all over.

Expect to see The first, and main mesh from Deadbolt inside of a week.

It will be my first official REAL mesh, and a great one to start with....YAY DEADBOLT rulez.

Since my boy took the Xbox for visual reference I'm pausing on the mappping on Deadbolt- or ReBolt as the working title is now.

SO since I'm gonna be chillin for a few days on mapping of it, I'll post alittle vid of whats done so far in a few minutes, just gotta upload.

Ok guys, here is a VERY EARLY movie of DM-Deadbolt.

THE REBUILD of my old UT2004 map.

The other one I built with alot less expereince.In fact alot of that expereince was gained on that map.

So I decided to do it just as the original, and improve it from the get go.I started over from scratch and here is whats in there so far:

Well, I got my first official UC2 mesh completed.

I had made various versions of this mesh in brush form, but never really getting the shape just right.

I fell like this is pretty close.

So now I got this "wallcut" piece and the Glass Tubes, now on to Deadbolt.

My Plan for now, since I have another helping me make meshes for Praxis, is to move ahead with my Deadbolt Re-Remake, building meshes along the way, thus having basically the complete map near the final stages, in a more normal type of workflow.

Well I left the team, and of course that is not good for them or me.THough I really only considered one to two people actual CONTRIBUTING members.

Basically there were three modelers, and me actually doing stuff.

I got sick of all the other people in the "Mod" talkin crap, and spouting off at the mouth.especially the ones who did litle to nothing, I can take it if your a producer but if not then STFU.

Anyways, I wanted to get the produceres outta there and into a new a more doable Bonus pack.

Im still waitng on a few things from one member.

I guesss the status is myself along with two others are mapping for a little pack.

I still have a little deal with Mons Olympus to suplly me a few Praxis meshes in exchange for map usage on that mod, if they are put in my hands fairly soon.

I have only a few more meshes for Deabolt, actually only two REALLY easy ones after the pillar.

I I'm guessing another week or so to Finish up meshes for this versio of Deadbolt, then on to finishing up the actual mappage.

That part tends to go pretty fast for me these days, especially when my bud's here to lend an eye to UC2.

OK textureing as begun.....

I just had to look and make sure UVs were not fliiped, so I took another screenie.

Only the tippy top is really textured correctly, but now maybe it looks alittle familiar to some.

Ok Im gonna port these little guys over once Im done with all the dang maps I got on my plate right now. IT'll still be the semi distant future, but I got them all ready basically, just goot bone them each.

None of these really look that great compared to the 2k4 counterparts, but the Mini and the Rox I just like better cause I dont know why really...LOL

plus it'd be kinda cool to play around with these in 2k4 I think.

Not hard to code, just copy code for existing weapons.....

IT just takes some time to do that I dont have right now.

LEt me reanwer that question.....

In not toally sure if it's in Chemical Dawn or not, but it's definalty in Recoil.As well as a few others.

Chemical Dawn is more of an Acid Rain or Fury style of map......corrded chemicals stuff...

Deadbolt and Recoil are more abbandoned mech base type thing.

Well all I can say is having the game has prooven more valuable than I ever thought possible.

I mean I knew it would be hard to copy meshes (easier to make ur own).

BUT DANG, there are these little details that you just gotta have the game to see.

Well Im almost done textuing the mesh...and Im quite pleased witht he results so far.

I went ahead and placed it in the map, and i can just update the file withthe finla version that is textured correctly.

Here is alittle moive showing the mesh a little, but then I just wanted to play a littel and kept recodring...not along vid at all.

OK, here is a movie of all my still yet to be completed maps from UC2 for UT2004.I really just gotta build a feew meshes that are kinda tight for PRaxis/Horizon.Really they both use the same stuff.The pillars in Horizona re different then the PRaxis ones, but I feel they'll work.
I have some retexured 2k4 pillars in there for now, there is n trim on the galss, and still a few things missing.Somewhere aong the line, my sky zone got borked, but thats an easy fix for finalization time.

Praxis requires a few of theose same meshes, and a few of it's own, the giat pillars and the trim probably being the most fundamentally important.There are basically done in a sense, I just goota refint the pillar samoe moer, and sneakily tweak some existing meshes from the game.

DM-Deadbolt is basically meshed.IT just needs them to be correctly textured.I plan to do this basically after the entire floor plan is layed out.Basically they are at a point where I can see what I need to, and then I can go on from there.

Here is the moive, it's kinda long, the longest Ive ever made, ithas all threee maps, and has an intro for each one.The music is some ransom sheot I picked..MEtroid music, MEgadet, and As I lay Dying ,again.

You'll need Winzip to open it, and to those who couldnt get it before, this only lasts 10 days, so d/l it now.!!

Those maps are lookin' real good so far - keep it up. I think that's the first time I've actually seen Horizon in action.

Dude, I've been seriously contemplating on picking up a desktop tower soon to keep up with UT 2004 and these newer games coming out. Last week I found a 20.1 inch Samsung LCD for my MAME Cabinet at Best Buy, and have been itching to go back and just completely upgrade my MAME PC and focus this baby solely for gaming.

By the way, I finally got around to seeing Grandma's Boy this morning. That crap was freakin' hilarious.

Dude, I really did it this time. To make a long story short... My brother and his family are in town (have been all week), and all the commotion has been literally driving me insane.

Like I mentioned, I've been looking to upgrade my MAME Cabinet with something a little more beefy since the other Tower was falling apart and the insides were completely exposed.

Anyhow, I took a stroll over to Best Buy yesterday and upgraded my system - this way I no longer have to worry about getting my low-end lap-top to run these more demanding games. Well, here's the specs for the new tower I scooped up...

HP Pavilion Media Center Edition
820 Intel Pentium D with Dual Cores (2.8 GHz)
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 7300LE
16X CD/DVD Burner

I've tested out UT 2004 on this baby (since this happens to be the most demanding game I play) and everything runs buttery smooth at 1600 X 1200 Resolution with the setting cranked to max. Even during the most frantic of firefights, my frames rarely dropped below 50.

Hopefully this bad boy will be able to keep up with UT 2007 just fine when it's released (I'm already hitting slightly above minimum specs), but this game isn't coming out for a while yet anyhow - leaving plenty of time to upgrade if need be.

Dude, I'm still going to make an effort to watch these Editing Vids shorty, so please forgive me if it takes a bit longer with everything. Hopefully we can get some good UT 2004 time in soon. I need to buy an ethernet cable today though before going online.

Dude, I finally transferred and configured all my UT 2004 data over to my new rig and well... I'm hooked. I was playing Assault last night for a couple hours and of course... Deadbolt. I had to give some love towards your creation. Also, I tried hooking-up to your Korriban Server - but saw that she's still outta' commission. Dude, I'm down to play some UT 2004 anytime you are. It's nice being able to finally enjoy this game the way it should be played.

Sweet, I;ve been blowing prettty bad lateley too, sooo good time to get your sea legs.

TIP: When Shreds mapping alot, he's easier to beat.

I fear Koriban is gone forever(2k4 that is).

We can get a good server to play on though.

Dude, I finally transferred and configured all my UT 2004 data over to my new rig and well... I'm hooked. I was playing Assault last night for a couple hours and of course... Deadbolt. I had to give some love towards your creation. Also, I tried hooking-up to your Korriban Server - but saw that she's still outta' commission. Dude, I'm down to play some UT 2004 anytime you are. It's nice being able to finally enjoy this game the way it should be played.

Sweet, I;ve been blowing prettty bad lateley too, sooo good time to get your sea legs.

TIP: When Shreds mapping alot, he's easier to beat.

I fear Koriban is gone forever(2k4 that is).

We can get a good server to play on though.

Eh, I'll forever suck at PC games - so I simply play to have a good time. You'd still wax me if you hadn't played in a year - LOL. I'll definitely make sure to add your tag sometime tonight.

Man, that sure sucks that Korriban has finally seen its fate - but it sure was fun while she lasted. Well, I've been playing with Kane lately, and Silver seems like a rad color.

Oh yeah, why in team games is the AI so extremely difficult. For example, in Assault and Onslaught, these guys just wail on ya with one shot and you're completely toast - and I have the setting at Adept.

In the original UT I play with Godlikes, but in UT 2004 I'm almost afraid to. It's almost as if the developers jacked-up the difficulty meter. Not to mention, some of these guys online are freakin' insane with their skills. Their movement is so sporatic that I can barely land a hit - then all of a sudden I'm down with one shot.

Well there is some RAMPANT cheating right now.

It's like it was when 2k4 was about 2 months out of the gate...pretty nasty.

I could say screw it, cant beat 'em join 'em, but I dont wanna get my CD key banned.

PLus I can still usually beat 'em(aimbots) if the conditions are right.

woah those are pretty impressive shred. Can't wait for the final results, also I request a CTF map please. I want viperpit. I'll submit it to the guys from unrealness and TWL then maybe it can be used in matches and stuff :p

Im really excited about those UC1 weapons too, specifically the rocket launcher. I wanted UC1 style seeking rockets. The ones that keep their lock and do circles.

No deal, I MUST have viper pit! and who better than to do any UC2 map than you shredster? Actually those bushes above the flags look neat those are static meshes? You can go on the ledge and hide behind them.

The CTF maps in UC2 are just incredible - even better than the Deathmatch set I believe. If anyone can do these maps justice for UT 2004, it's you Shred. Too bad there isn;t more time in the days. Dude, I wish that I could get by without sleeping.

I know thats kinda why Recoil draws me in.That map and Transitor are freakin insanity.Recoil is so freakin bad....I just get shivers every ime I play that one, and look at it from a mapping perspective.Same with Undertow.That map is freakin insane too.

Recoil and Transistor are sweet freakin' maps.

Aqueduct - another one I love
Chemical Dawn - gets pretty hairy in the middle of the map
Downfall - absolutely dig the inclined terrain (reminds me of Maul from UC and UT 2003 - trying to remember what it was renamed for UT 2004?)
Tomb of the Emperors - relatively small and reminiscent of Orbital 2
Gauntlet II - another classic
Judgment - this map is insane and never gets old - love the outdoor feel and giant walls
Octane - has a very ethereal quality about it
Skyreach - very fun with many twists and turns
Total Control - perfect example of a classic CTF match with bases up high
Turmoil - small and in your face
Viper Pit - demo map with a great set-up and terrific atmosphere
Monoxide - DLC map that's just as good as the rest
