Good games earlier Shred - we finally found a few matches to play. Who was the host? Kasuka? Anyhow, that last match in Deadbolt was a freakin' doosy - I was disconnected at first, and then reloaded the map to help out my team full of noobs. Good stuff!

Geez, that's the first time I've sat down with UC2 in almost 2 weeks.

Maybe 2k4. I don't think it will run to great on my pc. But playing with all options low hasn't stopped me before. I will just be at a very big disadvantage.

Don't feel bad, as I'm in the same boat as yourself. In fact, I play UT 2004 on a very low-end lap-top (Intel Celeron M Processor, 1.4 GHz, 1 GB RAM, and Intel Accelerator Graphics Card).

Sheesh, the only thing spec-wise that I have going for me is the GIG of RAM. Otherwise, I usually crank the settings down to their minimum level - and play on 800 X 600 Resolution with the Textures up a tad.

When I had my PC fixed a few weeks ago, the employees at Best Buy were wondering how my system could actually handle some of these games on my computer - especially UT 2004.

Let it be known now to all that the REALLY F*n hardcore PC players LOWER all graphics settings for better frames, and so the game is like only Skins, and low detail.....

SNoogans since you have the gig of RAM you should click preload player skins in the settings.

Im hardcore and I actually have my settings kinda default and normal. Nothing cranked or dumbed down. Couple little things here and there such as hidden weapons, coronas off, etc. However, you use utcomp and it makes all the enemies default skins/models and colors. I love Utcomp as it shows your accuracies and damages and what not. :D

IMO UTcomp is for niggas who need glasses.

Make the game easier.

I bet if more consolers knew what comp was they'd play UT2004 a little qucker.

I just cannot stand it, it makes things WAYYYY to easy adn that whole ridiculous argument of hitscan being too dominant becomes actually valid.
Everyone in 2k4 maons and grans abot HS, but they don't realize the Comp is the problem, when you change the game to suit your needs, don't complain about the balance.

Bright skins and hit sounds.

THe bright skins are WAY easier to see, adn the hitsound give you a good idea of how near death your opponents are.

Ok here is regular style skins.

UC2's team skins for refernce purposes are slightly bricht like EPic style on UT2004.

my one gripe or noe of few surrounding 2k4.

TOO amny people RELY on this to play.

It's soo bad that some people will not play you without it.

IMO your using a mutator that is NOT included in the game. therefore you are changing the rules to suit your needs, therefore it makes it easier to play, thuslly allowing less skilled opponents turn to gods.Take em off UT comp and they get flawlessed.

IT's really quite funny to watch a UTcomp crutchie sqirm on a regular server.

Ahh, thanks for the background info. Speaking of which, I've never been a big fan of mutators - especially those which aren't even originally packaged within the gameplay experience. I've always enjoyed simply keeping things pure. I can definitely see why this type of playing style is considered well... Gay. Sure, it may be fun for a few rounds, but why would gamers need this to constantly become the norm? Kinda Cheap if that's the case - but to each their own.

UTcomp is widely accepted in all leagues/ladders played across the world. There are always people that will play "core", but if something has become the standard, then you may as well use it. any good player will know how much health their opponent has anyways without the hitsounds. You should be tracking that anyways.

Its just out of the box there are sooooo many things that shoulda been included. The scoreboard/accuracy I think is the best part of utcomp honestly. The netcode rework is gay. The brightskins are a little extreme and I thought the epic ones that they added later on were just fine, but too many people whined about it and UTcomp readded them on the next version. As I see it, your opponent is using them, so you might as well too instead of giving yourself a disadvantage.

Hopefully not much will need to be changed in 2k7, but there will always be a pro mode for the competitive players.

Good Game to Riddles.

Next time were doing the CTF Insta, try to be in the opponents base at the same time I am, but dont try to hard.I guess the best way to put it is, if you have a chane to shoot your teamtes on that stuff, it botts them across the screen more.So if we are bortht there, adn you take their flag and go out the top like you were, and I follow you, when you jump I can launch you ALL the way to our flag base by shooting you with my Insta Rifel.
