Well, I've been slowly but surely crackin' away at this drawing for the past two months and it feels like it's taking forever to finish - probably because it is. No seriously, my attention span has nearly vanished once and for good, so I only seem to work periodically when I'm feeling that creative itch.
Just in case anybody's wondering, since people just naturally have the tendency to assume my work is traced - I'd like to clarify that this is all free-hand. Believe me, tracing would make this drawing look ten times worse and there's absolutely no way the detail could be rendered the same. Besides, the original picture is significantly smaller.
Now, I usually only show my work after it's finished, but I could care less anymore and decided to post a few pics for everyone to check out.

that's good so far. It looks like you've taken the time to put the exact details into the clothes, which is most likely what's making it take so long.

Wow, thanx for everything guys. By the way, the picture is from the UC2 Brady Game Guide and the original picture's most likely a computer generated model. The size of paper I'm working with is 8 X 11... I believe.
It's funny, because I can't draw worth crap unless I actually have something to go from. Without a picture of any sort, my drawing talent is absent. With a picture though, I can seem to draw everything to a tee. I know, it's strange how it works, but I need guidance when working.
Shred, killer model dude - are you going to actually use that. Post some more pics after the mesh and textures have been added.

Well not sure how to mount on shoulders in UT...LOL
nah its not really doable.
I can texture it up though as a mesh etc etc.
I plan to do it.

When I finally get done with all this mapping ( a long time away), Im gonna scan up all my drawings and post 'em.
I was looking through them the other day, and there;s really only one Unreal drawing, a Ivy from Soul Calibur drawing. The Unreal one is of Anubis, it was drawn a good year before the demo, and I was looking at it being proud of myslef for getting it so close. I had drawn it from a drak sceen shot of a CDG (unknown at the time), and I could not make out the staff at all to the point I did not see it.So I put pistols in his hands.....LOL

MWHAHAHA
Nah, you know we'd kick arse for you, and witht he internet being the great thing it is, we can easily work together, and never meet physically, but I guess I'm not all that far from Chicago.Atlanta is far away, but not as far as some places I've gone....It's driveable.
I actually went there back in the day and thought Chicago was kinda cool, but I was in a small area.It was on W Something street, the same street wrigley field is on.Then it like dead end to lake Michigan.I had a friend who lived there a few years ago, and I visited, and I though that little sopt was pretty f'n sweet.
anybody see my dang mesh yet....?

I wouldn't mind getting you guys on the team. Production is slow right now. I mean that most of the people that helped aren't anymore. I took the route of game designing, they wanted to stick with other applications. So now I am going to devry starting july 11 for game simulation so I can have that on my belt too. So when the time comes I will let you guys know. In the mean time I use 3d blender for graphics and animation (i'll move to maya or 3dstudio when i get the money and an apple pc), and c++ for programming. Though I am trying to find some games that are created in java. I may just do java anyways, and it should have a better 3d library when it comes time to hard time coding. I can't remember which one of you i told the story about the game to, but that is my masterpiece project. It will be 10 series. I been lazy with it, cause i am by myself, and don't really have that game designing knowledge, or someone that can help me go in the right direction.

Maya 7.0 PLE can be attined FREE with a UT2004 Dvd...pr CD actually.
PLE is just a personal learning edition, it's the same application only there is a water mark on screen, I've learned to see around it.
Unreal Uses UScript which is VERY similar to Java.In fact you can get context, a script text editor, and use these highlighters, and write the code in Java or whatever thne just change it over to UScript/
pretty pimp.
I start c++ next week....yay....not.
I not a programmer.....
but I gotta take it anyways.
Im hoping I can proove my skills to a propective gaming company soon.
I am getting this modeling thing down.
My plan is to complete my existing remakes, then build an original map that just owns with static meshes, and some custom scripting in there, thne it'll be hard for me not to get hired me thinks.

Though this would be a great idea, it will be a legal battle that I can already see. That engine is provided to be free given that you use it for modding of unreal. I can't make a new game out of it. I will be doomed if i even start. I would rather own a developer's copy and work from there. Which is what i am going to do, but for now 3d blender is an open source application that is free. The only thing they ask i believe is to have either a splashscreen in the beginning or there name in the credits. I wish i knew how to get involved into third party game creating so i can build for microsoft playstation or nintendo. this game is not really a pc game.

Oh yeah not for comercial use......I was'nt thinking...sorry...LOL[face_sleep]
I think you can buy Dev kits for systems.
I remeber looking into one for Xbox awhile ago and I saw one on Ebay for like $600....but I'd guess a DevKit fot a NExtGener is a little more, Like $1500 at least.
I think you CAN get one though.

I am going to check up on that. I need to know fast for my analysis phase. Also I can send you a copy of my documentation so far if you wanna help. Though it is not nearly finished, and I am putting in stuff as I go with the story. Man this game is gonna be great. I want to make my own website too so that I can post some work on there. But I am not too good with flash nor dreamweaver. Another few courses I need to take.

Well I'll get some of that stuff from you once Im ready i guess.
Also consider the possiblity of using Unreal Engine.
It is doable, just make a great game, and it'll get published IMO.
Yeah Im definatly game, but I dont want you sending me your intelecutal content until Im really ready tro give it serious go, right noow I got oo much on the plate, but ina month or so, I can definalty get to helping out alot.

Photo not a scan .I drew this like as soon as I saw the first screens like a year before UC2.Hence the Pistols in a "CDG pose": LOL,See I drew it from a screen and I could bareley see the staff, but Selket had pistols in her hands, so I put those in his hands.

I might be up for doing some modeling for ya!!!:D
I've done alot of static models, but no Guns like that, with moving parts and crap.Like archetectural pices etc, or little things.
I guess you just gota tell me what file type you need...and that pretty much it I think. What program are you using to model?
Did you make it, or did your buddy ( the revolver)?

My buddy has no idea how to model. Hes more the coding side of things, so i made the revolver.(but were not decided on if its going to go ingame yet.)And i modeled it in Milkshape 3d and rendered it in 3ds max 8. I also know how to skin, animate, Uv map and all that other rubbish so ill be leading the art of the game.
And atm were still in the concept phase. We still need more coders and modelers and concept artists. So when we know what kind of things are going into a level ill tell you and then you can start doin some stuff.
File type dosn't realy matter. As the program i use can import most file types of todays biggest 3d modeling programs.

Why not just model it in Max???
Milkshape must be easier to use???

Milkshape is alot easier to use for certain things (imo) I just use 3ds max for the smoothing, touching up areas and rendering... beacsuse those things are easier in max.

Expensive......
ahem...I need it....and Milkshape me thinkz.
Maya is a toughie: maye I might have gotten a little further with another app.I have had alot fo success, but some things are awkward, and tough to sort out.
