Well, UC2 has offically been out for over a year now, and geez... nothing's changed. By all means, I absolutely love this game and forever will. It's just that every single time I hop online (which isn't much anymore), many people still refuse to take a simple loss - why? One word... RANK.

Gay, gay, gay I say. Why in the world do gamers take this crap so seriously? Why? Why? Why? It's ridiculous. 4 out of every 5 Masterfuls or Godlikes prefer to disconnect and boot rather than compromise their precious bars next to their name. I'm convinced that Ranking and Scoreboards are the worst thing to happen to online gaming (next to the head-set).

Personal Stats are fine, but anything that shows other people your potential skill level needs to be banished from future games. It's obvious that many will disagree with everything I just said, but does your rank really make you more of a man?[face_raised_brow]

I work hard to keep my Novice status, if I get too many kills I have to d/c just so that I'm not masterful.



But yeah ranking is cool sometimes but also it can ruin a gaming community like UC2's and Halo2's online communities. I frankly don't even care about ranking if you're really good at this game then your name will be known by that, not by how many bars you have.

Hopefully these rank whores will eventually get their prized Godlike status, and then realize that they are still getting owned by lower ranked people and still have next to no respect, and will realize that the only way to truly be ranked high by players is to be good.

The only rank I care about is the score next to my name after the end of the match. Thats when you know who really has skill. I say they should just discontinue the whole rank thing and stick to score boards.

Thing about D/c's I hate is that I never ever leave a game but I never have gone a game with out lagging out. always playing in a 8 man tdm with my crappy online sucks.

Actually he said his gamertags were SithAssasin, TheGoldenKiz, and his other one was something about stonecold if I remember correctly.

I knew who he was when he played under his SithAssasin tag and he was a real jerk, always talking down other players. Then once he proceeded into an argument with Trip Like I d0 and challenged him to a UT2k4 match and lost, and started ranting on the boards about blah, blah, blah.

When we were'nt on his server that was in his bedromm with 10 ping, HE backed down.I killed him 3 times in a row in another server, and he dipped reallly quickly.THen proceeded to tell me I was backing down cause it was not on his server.

I don't EVEN concearn myself with this sort of thing anymore.I used to care about that stuff, but not anymore.
I'd still like my shot at him, but he's the exception.

Thats what all the Hoopla was about.Notice he disappers into oblivion after that.

We went into Trips server He killed me once, and I saw his ping and said "Dude Im not doing this".

You can start a Dedi in 2k4, and play on the Dedi on the same PC.

Thats about the equivilent of hosting your own game in UC2.On top of all of that he wanted to 1v1 me in CTF first off.

I still to this day wish he'd show his face on my RENTED server thats IN PHILLY and I live in Atalnta.

I'll answer it for you.In the early days of the game I was one of tthe best.After about 3 months I quit for a month or so and never really got to quite the same lvel again, cause I'll only play for a few minutes at a time, usually when I smoke, and thats it.Purely for fun.

I would go as far as to say I suk now.Thats just my opinion, somw might say dofferent.

Now as for 2k4, I still play fairly often, at least once or twice a week, and most of the time can do well.I am far from the true elite of PC,but I am no slouch either, and have been told I am as good as some REALLY Good players out there, but I dont' belive them, cause I playted some of those guyus, and man they're nutty.

yes it is JUST a game, but people i most be out there want to be the best at the game, for some games its competition that makes it.

I have a few artists, but I am focusing on writing the script. I have 4 lines of games I want to do. I could easily be godlike if I do what he does, but I don't see myself getting better with pure accuracy. I can't down him for it cause epic put it in the game. He uses homing so much with flak and host snipes. Though sniping I think is fair enough and even homing. But he uses it like that is the only adreniline in the game. I have not played him that much so I haven't found out a tactic. His server is all so laggy to. I would be in one spot, then I am all the way on the other side of the room. I won't blame that on him though. But if spamming homming had a stronger meaning, then he invented it. If wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't lagging cause I would reject like mad. I play unfair when others do. Also he and about two others tag team as well. I noticed that after I seen them two running down to kill someone side by side. And didn't even "spit" on one another.

Thanks for the heads-up Venom, and your story just proves my point and the whole reason I created this thread. Too many gamers within our community are absolutely obsessed with that little bar next to their name. Well, if that something gives them more meaning in their life, and helps to define who they are as people - then all the more power to them I suppose.

I say f*** the bars, and play. Epic games WILL NOT come to your house and give you a reward. If you are good then by all means be good. But cheating to get Godlike is stupid. Do they really think they have acheived something?

And I was giving everyone an ass whooping in your server at the end of the game I had 25 frags and only 3 deaths!

So what!!! The funny thing is that I play to play and not expect to win. I don't beat myself up because i don't win. I care about playing. Plus I wasn't around at the beginning, I HAVE a life outside of that, and you think Godlike stats makes a person great. Plus if you are going to quote my stats please get it right. And you brag like I care that you won...lol. Like I said epic is not going to come to your house and give you a prize, though I will tell my grandma to send you a cookie. LMFAO

Also FeveredTNT to further this debate about you on my server I recall that you have died more then that from me alone. You DID NOT win the match. I do not know who it was but he had HB in front of his name. So before you post your lies, make sure it is in a post that was like a year old. That way the bull can be saved to the only thing that cares......the trash. LMFAO.

Fevered TNT - you really need a dose of humility. Even if you are supposedly good, you've lost my respect for being arrogant and cocky. I'd rather suck at this game and remain modest, than be good with a bad attitude. Think about it.

Anyone who loses on their host sucks balls at this game. I play on my host because a few people are stupid enough to join it. Then they are smart enough to leave it. Anyone who boots people in this game, has no balls. I haven't booted a single person from my server and probably never will. This whole time i havnt even thought about it. However, every server i play on and end up getting double kills over deaths, i end up getting booted, or the host leaves after that game or the next. No point in playing. I can't host games b/c its 2 easy for me. I can't stay in a game longer than 10 min with out lagging out. I can't even play someone good with out them getting an attitude. If its a dedicated, i end up having everyone leave then inviting me for a 1v1 on their host... Oh yeah and if ur a 4 you get ganked in DM by the host and all his little slacker buddies. I still say this game should only be played 1v1 dm.

I should go get on now and see who the hell is dodging rockets.
