Has anyone noticed that when you block a melee attack with your shield, you lose your lock most of the time? This has happened to me the relatively few times I've actually been able to block someone I lose my lock on them which usually causes my death as they continue their attack as I look around trying to re-lock on. Also does blocking successfully confirm any strategic advantage such as your counterattack having priority? If someone could elaboarate in depth on this subject it would be very helpful.

No to the lock-on question, but sometimes I just lose it for no reason. I think it may still be there, just not visible, as that has happened in a few other situation with me. I never tested it though, so I don't really no.

Are you sure you just didnt click the right thumbstick and turn of targeting.Cause if your trying to move like hell and not die, you might not notice something like that.

It could have been your opponent using heavy attacks against you. Heavy attacks always break lock-on and stun you momentarily. Also lock-on can occasionally get messed up in map geometry where the camera gets lost in the architecture and can't keep up this sometimes will eat up your lock-on.
Blocking doesn't give you any special advantage in terms of priority over your opponent. Neither does parrying because of all the current parrying bugs (with the exceptio of heavy attacks). Hopefully the patch will fix these...
Your best bet in the mean time is to just shield those attacks that you can't avoid to reduce the damage to chipping and make them wiff the rest with dodging and maneuvers to create openings and oppertunties.
