Character for certain weapons?

Ok so ive been playing for a little while and ive come to a decision. I like the Sniper and the grenade launcher as my main weapons. I could use some help at how to get better with these weapons? For example I play godlike bots with the insta gib mode on so that I can work on my sniping(its just like picking up U damage) I win about 40 percent of the time. What im wondering though is what characters and strats would you say work best with that weapon combination?

At first I thought selket because if anyone gets close I can flash and get away and then continue sniping.

Then I tried Lauren a bit and her siphon was nice cus it made almost all snipes one hit and then gave me the health.

I tried heavy characters so I could take more of a beating so I didnt have to worry about one wrong move so much.

Right now im using Saphire(sp?) Her homing helps a ton with the grenade launcher. Her Iron spirit helps me survive a little better. and when someone gets close to me to melee im able to use her ice burst and snipe in for a quick headshot.

Im just wondering if anyone has other strats they use with this combo both with characters and with just in game tricks.

A sniping stratagy, get good at no-scoping for better sniper usage I guess...

I'd say that one of the big factors for deciding your character is how you play up-close. Do you want an aggressive edge or a defensive edge? You melee or run? Light attack spam or heavy attacks? Pistols damage or freeze? Etc, etc... basically build your choice off your play-style.

Anyway a few others you might consider...

Warrior Spirit for quicker grenades and sniper scavenging.

EMP to detonate their rockets and your nade clusters, or force a stalemate to buy time for headshots.

Speed for escape or to buy time to setup a trap or reposition for a headshot.

Ethereal use similarly as speed.

Nimble is so underrated, once your aim in the air gets steady it's a sniper's best friend, also makes for an easy escape.

Wraith to counter debuffs, lockon etc...

I would have to disagree laurenrules. I would say practice the sniper more with it zoomed in. I only think this because there is a reward you get that is announced called sharpshooter when you get a certain amount of zoomed sniper kills, not necessarily headshots, but just zoomed sniper kills. I think it gets announced at about 15 kills. Thats just my opinion, because I think zoomed shots are harder most of the time.

IMO Saphire and Anubis are the best snipers you could use.

I usually play a more defensive stance while sniping. Trying to get distance between myself and them. I freeze more with the pistols as it allowed easy headshots. And when it comes to melee I use light characters so against most heavy characters I find a freeze CDG or headshot to be the best way to kill.

You know I always put down nible because A. its useless indoors. and B. you make a really easy target for other snipers.

well now the current trend of weapons seems to be shock/rockets. And one wrong move on the ground ends up with me dead. So ill be on fiddling around nimble sniping. thanks for the tip.

oh and as for another post. someone said anubis and saphire make the best snipers. Any reasons why?

btw does anyone else notice you snipe better if your host? or is it just me?

For me, zoomed sniping while I'm aeriel is much harder.
Yes Vicioushellsing, you will always snipe the best on your server because there will be no lag. So, when you shoot the sniper, your shots will arrive quicker and more precise on your own server.

I said it was my opinion that Anubis and Saphire make the best snipers. My reason being that there are so many melee whores. If a melee whore gets close just use Energy Burst with Anubis, or Ice Burst+Head Shot with Saphire. Brock is also a good sniper because of Fear. Use Fear to cancel anything that threatens you.

Torgr would be a good sniper if he wasn't so big and slow.

Yes Vicioushellsing you do snipe better on your own server. This is because there is no lag and you will hit your target instantly and precisely.

ahhh. wish they would fix that. it makes it a pain in the ass shooting players where on my server would be a hit but on others its nowhere near.

definitly get good at unscope sniping. its fuuny when someone sees u sniping and attacks you with there melee, and end up killig them. another thing to do is practice your head shots. try to aim for the lower part of the head just incase you miss the head shot u get a body shot.

Learn to bounce off the walls when sword fighters get close. Its also good if you can master jumping over people while shooting them. I find this tactic very very effective. Bounce off a wall and over there head and then rain some sniper bullets on them. or grenades :D

Personally I like Lauren for her Ethereal and Siphon.

I also like selket for the heal,flash, and repulse. Repulse is a great way to save yourself from people with rockets. Ethereal on the other hand counters other snipers,stingers, regular ripjack blades, nades, and melee.

I dont use Sapphire because I use Sniper/Rockets and I dont really like the homing on rockets. however I do like the thought of freezing then headshot.
