Hey could you guys maybe have like one of the tournaments like every week or every month? Because you could have tryouts for characters at the beginning of the week/month then at the end of the week/month you could have one of the tournaments for all the people who got control of that character for that tournament....this would also keep it from being the same person for the same character all the time.

Also I suck horribly at DM compared to some people :( So could we have a tryout for each character for each gametype like: CTF-Sobek: Duff Man, and DM-Sobek-someone else. Then have a DM, CTF, Survival.... torunament for each gametype...also if it gets big enough you could have a different tournament for different number of players.... CTF-1v1, 2v2, 3v3......and yeah I have a thompson drive to :(

Do you realize how complex you are making this tournament by pitting character against character??????

to be truly fair, you have to pit a character against every other character, at least once, to see who is the winner.

There are 14 characters. So 1 character will fight 13 matches at the very least, unless you do rounds, in which it will be more.

14x13 = 182

Thats 182 separate matches, again thats unless you have rounds, in which case it will be more.

Now you are saying that those people that want to play the same character have to 'duke' it out. So lets say that every character has at LEAST one challenger. So thats another 28 battles, bringing the total up to 210 separate matches.

Now think of trying to get everyone to be available to play all 210 matches.

This is the kind of stuff you get when you half-ass a tournament together.

I am just trying to help out by pointing out the MASSIVE work involved in organizing such a large tournament.

If it were scaled down a bit, I would definitely help out in organizing it and even participating. But as of now, this kind of scale of a tournament does not equal FUN to me.

regardless, I do not want to stop you all from having fun, so do what you will, I shall keep my mouth shut from here on

(ps. by rounds I meant best 2 out of 3 or best 3 out of 5 which is a good way of ridding the matches of luck issues, connection/host issues, or simply map advantages [if each round had a different map])

but this was a melee only match couldnt use guns and it was a small map, forgot the name of it, i was using ice burst as if it was my lifeline, it was the only reason i placed 3rd but the heavies tried to team up on me since i was "light" so they kept cornering me and id activate ice burst, CDG one of them and run like hell...it was a tough match...

Yeah sorry I actually can't represent sobek for like 2 months :( I don't have enough money and my I had to quit my job so I can't pay for it for awhile. It would just be to hard to contact me through my friends xbl account though I don't want to be left out of this I would really enjoy helping organize in the mean time :) I do have an Idea for the tournaments though....when people said that it would be to much work for each gametype well then why can't one person be in charge of one gametype? Like once I get my xbl back up and working I could definitley organize the CTF portion of the tournaments if no one else wants it. And then the main person in charge of each gametype could have people help them if they wanted. We are going to have at least 1 person spectate each of the matches right? So if they couldn't spectate or it is a different time zone they could appoint someone else to moniter the match for them.

Yeah I couldn't referee every match eiter just like some I mean I have a life :) and I am not quite following you on the 3 player survival...I haven't played it much so could you please explain it in detail so I can understand because I though it was just 1v1 with like 3 people spectating at a time....maybe this could get rid of several matches at a time for DM...but if we do go with other game types and more player(2v2 3v3 for ctf and such...is there team based overdose?) Anubis is too overused and too "average" not too many experienced ppl use him,(as wut i see in live) and lots of newbies use him...

For example:Anubis is NOT overplayed, his energy burst is very PREDICTABLE *cough* NOT *cough* people who use Anubis make up about 50% of the Xbox Live players doesnt he sound GREAT!!!![face_whistling]

i dont know start asking some elite players to be in the tournament? About the cough thing i was thinkin of all the adrenaline moves and this is wut i came up with
this NOT one adrenaline move is as unpredictable as Energy Burst(besides Primal Scream) the rest can easily b detected or avoided, but as soon as u go by Anubis out of no where BAM!! ur dead.... not even a sound or movement b4 he activates it, its just BAM! lol

I don't think that one person should represent more than 1 character. It wouldn't be fair because if they were knocked out useing like Selket then they could just continue with another character like Gorge. And what if there 2 characters were matched up against each other....that would be one great match :)

Lets start this crap...I'll also switch to Anubis and someone else can use Devastation.The first matches should be amongst the lights.Then the best light left will go up against mediums.

Like this:
Devastation vs Sapphire
Selket vs Lauren

Anubis vs Torgr
Malcom vs Brock
Sobek vs Raiden

Gorge vs Szalor
Arclite vs Raptor

That will leave 7 winners
2 light class
3 medium
2 heavy

Each class has a free for all to determine "best in class"
Then the final four go at it in 1v1's.
