Hey guys if u didnt see the xbox360 premiere, then dont respond, well anyway, the new xbox looks bigger then the xbox its self, i mean come one, whats up with the technology now? i thought smaller and more complex, not huge and complex. well Bill Gates either way, hes making money and im not, but doesnt mean my rights of free speech are taken away. My views on Xbox360 is well the gfx will be awsome, but will it ruin the experince of our past and present gamers? i mean come on PSP was almost $500, why so much money for pretty much a piece of metal and plastic with a few transistors and transformers etc..., well hit me up with a replay thank you

i think it is because of Halo 3, need for speed most wanted, perfect dark zero, and possibly future unreal games. Im definetly going to buy it.

i dont think there will b a perfect dark zero, and if there is, i don't think it will be near as good as the orginal was of its time, and besides the key to selling you prodcut, is to have somehting different ( uc2 has adrenaline and balance, Timesplitters has map editors and high replay value, halo is addicting( for whatever reason, probably all the game types)

I thought there was only one Xbox 360 thread allowed. Oh well. Anyway, it's definently worth getting.

No it wasnt nearly a step up from the Xbox... Some of the games like Perfect Dark, Tony Hawk look like they could have been done just fine on the XBox. And other titles like condemmed or NBA what ever look like PC games a year ago, not nearly the jump in quality I need from a console. Looking at my current PC I could have better games visualy today by using the 400 something dollars it will cost to upgrade my computer. Also after looking at the Unreal 07 screens anc comparing them to the other X360 games theres no way it's going to run on the system with out taking a major hit in graphics. If you must have a console wait for E3 and see the Rev and PS3... If those bomb worse than the X360 then the 360 it is. E3 will tell all though.

Perfect Dark Zero will be way different from it's predecessor.

Did they mention if you will still be able to play Xbox games on the 360?

legacy-CYBER_ELITE
05-12-2005, 06:37 PM
no they hardly gave out any info. they just announced the games that were coming out. the graphics are awesome

legacy-VickissV3
05-12-2005, 06:37 PM
nope , its also not on the official fact sheet, and it was said a year ago that it will not be. I say its safe to assume its just not and is another reason to wait for ps3 , since the PS3 WILL be backwards compatible

legacy-deathlesslife
05-12-2005, 06:44 PM
microsoft has not officiall commented on backwards compat so we will have to see at e3

The MTV show was just for the noobs that do nothing but watch MTV because of its NON-Music(lame) programing that they have. It was aired just to show them that the XBOX 360 is coming.

E3 is were the real info will be released.

e3 is where we will find more.

Altho one thing has to be said, with every generation of consols their is always a tone of hype (anyone remember sony saying that the ps2 could run toy story gfx in real time)but the fact is they will NEVER be as good as pc's as pc technology is one step ahead, so as soon as consols start getting up to rediculous prices £400 i would rather buy myself a new processor and gfx card for that money.

saying that i will be getting the xbox 360 anyway as my pc is already top spec and it should be able to run ut2007 fine (hopefuly) and i have to spend my money on somthing :P

Didn't you see the Gears of War shots? The 360 can run UE3.

There will most likely be a HD included or an add-on. Maybe a small 20gig included with a 40 or more optional. I believe its backwards compatible, because in on video where they showed the 360 Dashboard you can see Halo 2 and Fable icons. So I'd say backwards compatability is a sure thing.

Consoles are becoming equal to PC's as far as graphics and technology.I plan on building a gaming Beast for UT2007. UT2007 will be on 360, but for me keyboard and mouse controls are easier. So it boils down to the pros the xbox has to offer to validate a purchase. Pros: Extreme ease of use. Dashboard streamlining for Xbox Live. Custom Soundtracks for most games. Console Exclusives like Perfect Dark, Forza, Halo and others.

Also a note about the unveiling of Perfect Dark Zero. AS it was shown last night at the MTV event. It didn't hold a candle graphically to games like Gears of War, Need For Speed or NBA2k6. I believe it suffered from being retooled for various platforms along its development lifecycle. From the Gamecube to Xbox and now to Xbox 360. I'm sure various employees leaving also did not help. I know some say the games look like just upgraded versions of xbox 1 games, and partly they are right. I believe they only showed a handful of games last night and some of the big hitters will be unveiled at E3. I could be wrong, but I do know Gears of War and other Unreal 3 Engine games look fantastic and make the 360 buying alone.

I'm not gonna pay more than $500 for a console when I can get a PC with a monitor for that price.

I heard $300 for the basic(Non-Hard drive) and $360 with the HDD

i dont actually believe you lot..... are you all ps2 bum boys or something?? ps3 has NOTHING to offer.. its like a dumbed down x360 for kids. x360 is like 20x more powerful. and what dickhead in their right mind would want to buy a crappy moniter (which you already have otherwise you wouldnt be reading this) instead of a next gen powerfull console.. prob as powerfull as ur pc's.

xbox360 has ALOT to offer.. it is the way forward.. unless you want to go play with sega megadrives or sumit..

xbox360 has all them little things that you go "oh i wish they had this on the console" like wireless controllers, wireless console :P, all DLC on dashboard, cool colour lights on ur controller when people send u invites... other stuff you wudnt even think of like if you have 4 controllers, and everyones playing.. it has on the controller which player you are, like top left is player one, top right is player two... etc etc.. and this lights up on your controller.

Thanks for all the info ... especially you V V .. man if it isn't backward compatible that will suck! Man they are trying to have their cake and eat it to. Do they really think that companies can afford to develop for both platforms ... oh well now we really see the business /money making side of gaming rear it's ugly head. I will get it however because only certain games will be available for it. But still that is stunning. Maybe if enough people complain or refuse to buy it they'll be forced to fully rethink their strategy. But I have to have Gears of War and UT2007 ... I just have to. :(

Those dudes are just greedy. And I guess in this economy Greed works, Greed is good - From Wallstreet, the movie.

Edit: Well that article is over a year old so maybe some of you are correct and they will have it ... it just makes good business sense to do so imho. So as everyone has been saying I guess we'll just have to wait until E3 for full confirmation. But someone said they saw Halo on it so that is a positive sign. :)

I'm going with XBOX 360. Was a Sony fanboy, have about 60 games on PS and about the same on PS2. Tired of Sony and their saying this and that. HD what 2-3 years later. Online 2 years later. Have to buy all these after purchase, buy multi-tap to play more then 2 people. Bought my XBOX and Live and haven't looked back. Also I believe I read somewhere about usb ports for all you mouse and keyboard players. Already saving my pennies. Quake 4, and of course Unreal. I know you'll be able to play these on your PC, but I enjoy kicking it on the coach, and have 5 kids so I can't up grade my PC every 5-6 months.

Ut2007 is coming out on pc... UC3 will be on xbox360
the detail in charicter design and facial expressions is pleasing in ways that would get me arrested in 15 states. no detail is a 2d image mapped on. even wrinkles on malcoms face are modeled. its sooooo good.

well thats obvious graphically and technically, but not everyone can afford a $400 graphics card... but then again not everyone can afford a $400 console with lesser graphics...

legacy-marock
05-13-2005, 09:12 AM
The only games I want on the system (gears of war, ghost recon 3 and UT07) are all comming to PC or to the PS3 and Rev which I might get depending on the power.

A next generation console should be higher tech than current PCs, the Xbox was and so was the PS2 at launch. But the 360 isnt, it's not as powerful and it looks like it's not pumping out graphics on par with PCs now. Im dissapointed in the no backwards compatability functionality as well.

I hope E3 shows a good Rev or PS3 because otherwise next generation consoles are going to be out of date at launch.

legacy-JordanPlayer
05-14-2005, 06:01 PM
Yeah... Gears of War and UT 2007 are both coming out on PC as well, and from what I've seen those screenshots were taken on PC, not on XBox 360 (Gears of War was actually thought to be just a tech demo of the Unreal Engine 3, until just recently it was announced as an actual game, the demo I was talking about is floating around somewhere on the internet). The description of the graphics card in the XBox 360 means nothing to me, I have no idea what any of those specs mean... and 512 MB memory (RAM)... if you are a PC gamer 1 GB is standard now :\ The 3.2 x 3 processor thing sounds really awesome though :) Just seeing as I got a top of the line PC a few months ago though, I'll probably skimp on the XBox as a some of those games end up coming out for PC at some point in time, that way you can get Halo and GTA :D

legacy-SwitchBlade
05-14-2005, 06:09 PM
yah halo 3 will be on the 360 so i think I will probably buy it.

the size is nice its not huge or anything so its easily portable, even if your not planning on moving it around a lot its always nice to know its there
